Get out the defibrillator quick: CNN is dying. What other conclusion can be drawn from the Nielsen ratings from February, which showed the once dominant news network finishing in fifth place for the first time ever- and now trailing CNBC and Headline News as well as its main competitors, FOX and MSNBC?
The numbers are, as you can imagine, pretty stark. Wolf Blitzer's show, The Situation Room, was down 44% in total viewers in February. Campbell Brown, Larry King, and Anderson Cooper all posted their lowest ratings ever in February among total viewers, declining 50%, 55%, and 59%, respectively.
The numbers are equally grim among the coveted 25-54 demographic. CNN's share of the market with this group during prime time declined from 21% last February to just 10% this year.
Even worse, its market share among viewers 25-54 in day time - what's been seen as the network's bread and butter - declined nine percent in the last year to 14%.
CNN President Jon Klein has stubbornly refused to change course despite the network's epic slide over the last 15 months. The loss of Lou Dobbs last year obviously made things worse.

To hell with that. Let it bleed.
They need to learn the lesson that Jay Leno seems to have learned. Bashing conservatives is not good for ratings. Just ask David Letterman.
NO defibulator for them. They are in atrialfib. Eyes fixed and dialated.
Cold to the touch.
RIP
Die you commie pigs! DIIIIIIIEEEE!
This in spite of the fact that it’s on in every Doctors office and/or Airport. So if you ain’t diein or flyin you ain’t watchin CNN.

Jon Stewart Slams Rick Sanchez’ Chile Quake Coverage:
“He’s dead. Jim.”
Looks like the lefties have become disillusioned and aren’t tuning in.
Bummer, man.
I believe you meant ventricular fib...atrial fib is a chronic condition, while v fib is not.

Uhhhh . . . . you may want to read up on that whole cardiology thing.
I think most of their viewers are from airports! I was stuck in Dulles today and everywhere I looked was CNN.
DNR
Ha! That was one of the most hilarious things I've ever seen-they had to give him some cash just so he could play Final Jeopardy because he was in the hole! Dumba$$ indeed.
Maybe Larry King can do a two hour special with the Dicks-e-chixs and get a one day liberal boost.
I only see CNN in airports. The WSJ is always more interesting.
This news is going to drive Rick Sanchez to drink!
And there are rumors that CBS is courting Anderson Cooper to take over for Katie Curic as their news anchor. Exactly what is his accomplishment that he can take over a network anchor job? I guess CBS wants to actually do worse than they are doing now. Only explanation I can think of.
