Obama slays Repubs in Fox News poll
Wash Examiner ^ | 1/21/10 | Julie Mason

A new Fox News poll has President Obama losing in 2012 to a generic Republican candidate -- but mostly stomping a few big-name Republicans. Which leads one to wonder -- who is this generic Republican who could beat him?

According to the poll, Obama beats Mitt Romney, 47 percent to 35 percent, defeats Sarah Palin, 55 percent to 31 percent, and makes a quick business of Newt Gingrich, 53 percent to 29 percent. What, no Santorum?

Generically, Obama loses to an unnamed Republican, 43 percent to 47 percent.

Further: 43 percent of Americans say they would vote to re-elect Barack Obama if the 2012 election were held today, which is unchanged from October, yet is down from 52 percent who said they would re-elect him in April.

All in all, 47 percent of Americans say they would vote for someone else rather than re-electing President Obama, up from 31 percent in April.

Moreover, the number saying they would "definitely" vote to re-elect Obama has declined -- going from 37 percent in April to 26 percent in October to 23 percent in the new poll.

“Generic Republican Candidate” has no baggage while anyone you name, Republican or Democrat does have lots of baggage.

Another couple years of this crap and nobody will have the baggage that Obama has. Jack the Ripper would beat him.

I don’t believe DeMint or Hunter has a chance.

Palin’s campaigning for McCain is deeply disappointing to me, however: his re-election could bring in amnesty before 2012, which could in turn get Obama re-elected.

I wonder, who is our most conservative sitting governor?

Surpised they didn’t an Obama v Brown poll.

Just think, if Mitt moves to California, we could have Romney/Brown in 2012.

One would hope so, but the only Republican that would have a chance against Obama would be Sarah Palin.

I'm thinking Hillary challenges Obama for the Democratic nomination in 2012 and he goes down in flames.

Here is the key fact about this poll:

“The national telephone poll was conducted for Fox News by Opinion Dynamics Corp. among 900 registered voters from Jan. 12 to Jan. 13. For the total sample, the poll has a margin of error of plus or minus 3 percentage points.”

from the Fox article.

Registered voters are not likely voters. So the poll is meaningless, since we rarely get more than 65% of the registered voters to vote in a Presidential election. And, more Republicans vote than Democrats.

LOL!!
Romney, of course, is a non-starter but Brown may have a future down the road.
He needs to build a record first.

Seems about right. For some reason, the sheeple still seem to like this guy. Interesting that of the real choices, Palin gets clobbered by the widest margin, while Romney, while still beaten soundly, is the closest. What does that tell us about the relative appeal of these choices on a national level?

Palin hasnt begun to run on Obamas old hope and change..
But America WANTS hope and change a real one..

Obama was and is a shill for the elite..
Palin has proved she has the will and can change bringing hope..

All that remains is for her to co-opt Obamas lieing gambit..
She can propose actual IDEAS for hope and change not merely rhetoric..

Wonder if shes THAT SMART TO SEE THIS..
NOT more gov't BUT LESS OF IT.. <<- HOPE and CHANGE..
