Obama in Handcuffs: International Criminal Court seeks to extend its jurisdiction
The Washington Times ^ | December 2, 2009 | Editorial

Posted on 12/01/2009 8:32:05 PM PST by Abakumov

Imagine if President Obama went to Oslo next week to receive his Nobel Peace Prize and was arrested for purported war crimes committed by U.S. forces in Afghanistan. This bit of historical irony would be possible under an argument being made by Luis Moreno-Ocampo, chief prosecutor for the International Criminal Court in The Hague. Mr. Ocampo claims jurisdiction over actions of U.S. troops in Afghanistan because Kabul in 2003 acceded to the Rome Statute, which established the court. He said a preliminary examination already is under way regarding possible American culpability in crimes against humanity.

As a patriotic American I know I should be outraged at the thought . . . but in seeing the headline I couldn’t help but crack a smile at the image

Since the UN gives Obama a tingle in his leg about having US troops be tried it'd be poetic justice if he was arrested while getting his Nobel Peace Prize ... but then, I doubt if his security would allow anyone to apprehend him.

When Barry saw the handcuffs he would suddenly remember that he is not eligible to be POTUS and he would then proceed to produce every document he had sealed and then some to prove it......

“Mr. Ocampo claims jurisdiction over actions of U.S. troops in Afghanistan because Kabul in 2003 acceded to the Rome Statute, which established the court.”

We’ll handle our affairs our way, Mr. Ocampo. You just keep your mitts off what America does and Americans. Especially our troops.

All talk. After all, who has tried to get Clinton to surrender for his 20 year sentence for war crimes he was convicted of in absentia?

Only an insane society lets unelected unaccountable people in black robes dictate to the rest of us the law of the land as they see fit based on their political correct views of the moment. Judges need to be impeached and read the riot act, their heads and egos are ever expanding as politicians give them more power with the understanding that they are exempt from the same treatment. This is tyranny hiding behind the facade of justice.
