'Southern Methodist University freshman Ryan Rosenbaum still has a lot of collegiate soccer ahead of him, but he'll be hard pressed to ever score as memorable a goal as he did Wednesday night.
Up 2-1 against No. 16 Tulsa, SMU was on its heels trying to keep the Hurricanes from setting up the equalizer in the 63rd minute of their Conference USA game. Tulsa controlled possession, but an errant pass found the freshman Rosenbaum, who attempted to clear the ball downfield. Things ended up working out slightly better than expected'

I bet Tulsa’s goalie feels stupid.
Yonder's the video.
Worth taking a look if you want to be totally amazed.
Thanks for posting this fantabulous sports thread, Scottie!

Please!
This is soccer!
Please put all posts about communist sports like soccer over on the Daily Kos.
We only want to discuss USA-American stuff here.
The goalie sometimes moves up when the ball is at the far end of the field, so he can get to anything that gets past the defense a bit faster. Then as the ball moves down the field, he drops back toward his goal.
Evidently the wrong thing to do in this case. Although I’ve never seen a kick like that go into the goal from such a distance. When I saw the headline, I just assumed that he managed to dribble it all the way down the field.
Yes, I’m not sure if the goalie did the wrong thing, but he must feel pretty stupid.
I thought this was a football game. At first I was like “damn!”
I think the only reason he made it is because he had a strong wind to his back. The goalie misjudged how far the shot could go.
Proving once again, everything is bigger and better in Texas!
Yeah1 He was kinda of just standing there instead of moving back. I think he was in a little amazement mode watching the ball go so far that he forgot to move back to the net to block it.....
When I saw the headline, I thought American football. SMU making a big play touchdown would be big news. They haven’t had a decent team since they quit paying their players.

Right, right-thankfully we have such paragons of virtue as Texas, Texas AM, Oklahoma, Notre Dame, etc etc-who have never done such things as pay players(then or now) to look up too. sarcasm off
Oh for god’s sake.
How is ‘soccer’ ‘Communist’????. The big clubs with most money buy the best players and have the most success. Pure capitalism.
If any sports are socialist, its YOUR sports!.
Look at the draft system. Its all about equality and parity. Isnt THAT ‘communist’?...
Communist
How?.
If you can't grab your balls it ain't an American sport.
Communists’ kids play soccer.
Real American kids play baseball and football. Except for the kids of girly men who are also Democrats, liberals, and RINOs. It is well documented.
The Germans lost the war because being soccer players, they didn’t know how to use their hands, and thus couldn’t shoot their guns or fly their planes.
The Japs were doing well until they started saying “Babe Ruth go to hell” and stopped playing baseball.
Soccer is the sport for sissy, dumb liberals. Remember, it was “soccer moms” who put Bill Clinton in office.
