WASHINGTON If you're planning a garage sale or organizing a church bazaar, you'd best beware: You could be breaking a new federal law. As part of a campaign called Resale Roundup, the federal government is cracking down on the secondhand sales of dangerous and defective products.
The initiative, which targets toys and other products for children, enforces a new provision that makes it a crime to resell anything that's been recalled by its manufacturer.

It is getting to where you can’t do any former activity without breaking some law. A friend of mine who lived under communism paraphrased to me what Ayn Rand wrote, that totalitarians make criminals of us to justify controlling us.
If a law should be placed on the books; wouldn’t this law be part of a State’s responsibility? Don’t states have the right to regulate commerce within their state? Why is President Zero upsurping his authority, without a challenge?
But then again, I’m apparently just a trouble-making rascist.
Ah the “cover up for China’s sloppy quality control” law.
Sounds to me like this is a serious problem. We should have a Bazzar Czar and at least 20,000 unionized inspectors to oversee this illegal black market now. If just 1 child is spared having to suffer the trauma of getting a defective toy, well how can you really put a price tag on that?

I don't believe for a second that it's just for the chillun's things. It would also go for kitchen appliances and the like. I wouldn't put it past these Feebs to try to do "stings" by deliberately donating such items to church bazaars then seeing if they show up.

Darn it! I was going to hit some Garage Sales hoping to score a set of Lawn Darts.
Well, before the 1980s some were printed with inks containing lead. So your Little Black Sambo would be verboten to resell.
It’s not just that.
Once people have to think about whether every little thing they do is breaking the law, It leaves them less time to think about other subjects ... like whether the government is going wild.
I happen to think the same thing of recycling ...
Why in the H E double L can’t our so called elected government just leave people alone and stop being the overbearing tyrants they’ve become?

It’s not that bad. I talked to a local second-hand store owner. She said you don’t have to worry as long as you do due diligence (google “recall [toyname]”).
I understand that some people didn’t turn their recalled products in for replacement, and a buyer even at a garage sale would want to know the toys aren’t death traps.
Of course I’ve seen dumb recalls. There was one for a lighter. “Do not use it until you have remediated the safety problem.” I thought, “Uh-oh, it’s going to blow up on me.” Turns out the “problem” was that they didn’t put the stupid warning sticker on. Yes, you were expected to contact them and have them ship a warning sticker for you to stick on before you use it.
Too many of these recalls are performed in paranoia of ambulance chasers.
Push it too far or too quick and you get massive pushback, though, defeating the purpose. The Obamites are ham handed and have no finesse.
I don’t like Federal workers. Always bothering people when they should not be

There’s a new game going around, at least, I hadn’t seen it before this year.

It has a piece of plywood with a hole in it on either end of the lane, and you toss a bean bag to land on the board or in the hole.
What cracked me up was that I first saw it at a church event and they called it “corn hole”, because the bags were filled with corn.
One enterprising firm is selling Jart parts. You have to reassemble them yourself.

Yank the laws which directed or funded the hiring of these superfluous drones.
Some of the good will stores are afraid to sell childrens clothing because of the rules on what 2nd hand items can be sold.
And to think it was over lead IN BATTERIES.
I bought the kids a “Slip-N-Slide” designed to be used with sulfuric acid rather than water.

I never really understood the problem with law darts. I hit a kid in the face with a baseball bat once, does that mean we should outlaw baseball?
