How Many Obama Voters Feel Let Down?
Pajamas Media ^ | August 4, 2009 | Jennifer Rubin

Candidate Barack Obama ran a brilliant campaign, convincing moderates and even some conservatives that he was no radical while keeping the netroot base fully engaged. But seven months after taking office, the list of disappointed voters (at least those willing to admit they were had) is growing.

Fiscal conservatives who bought the spiel that he’d go line by line through the budget have seen the most fiscally irresponsible president ever. After a $787B pork-filled stimulus, a supplemental spending measure with 9,000 earmarks, a $3.5 trillion budget, and a trillion dollar health care plan, Obama has managed to exceed the worst predictions of his critics. And now at least some of his advisors are letting on that his promise not to hike taxes on 95% of taxpayers [1] is going to be cast aside. After all, the deficit is now so huge we must plug the gap, right? (Robert Gibbs said Obama would never raise taxes on the middle class [2]– well, except for those cigarette and energy taxes.)

Then there are the good government types who fancied a new era of transparency and lobbyist-free government. Well, not quite. We have had the long list of tax cheats and the lobbyists who needed ethics waivers [3] to squeeze through the revolving door. Again and again — whether on the stimulus plan or on cap and trade — gargantuan legislation has been rushed through without public scrutiny. Well, if the public figured out what was on some of those thousands of pages, they might have objected.

There were gay voters who felt certain this contemporary president understood their concerns. Unlike all the other liberal pols he would finally deliver on gay marriage, they hoped ( after all he came out against Proposition 8 [4] in California) and repeal “don’t ask, don’t tell..."

If you think the GOP has a big tent with respect to the number of factions in it, the rat's have probably at least twice that number. Obama seems to be demoralizing almost all of them except the hardcore marxists. Cheating only works when the vote is close.

Can Democrats Get Re-Elected by Voting Against Obama?

More than four-dozen districts sent a Democrat to Congress last year while casting a plurality of their votes for Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) for president. Of the 49 Congressional districts where this occurred, 11 gave McCain more than 60 percent of the vote (see chart).

If they were followers, none of them. If they were thinkers, all of them. Of course, if they were thinkers, we wouldn’t be in this mess. Conundrum?

A guy I've known for a few years was a Obama-Hat wearer...literally.

Now he badmouths President Clown like a hardcore republican loon. It's pretty funny.

Talked to a couple of Obama voters last night that weren’t keen anymore on their vote - they are afraid.

It’s really hard to keep back the *I told you so* smirk when talking to them - because I did and they know it - I was fascinated they actually said to ME they are now worried about this administration.

And these are mainstream watchers that I don’t talk politics to anymore after the election. Let them stew...dinner’s ready.

Fiscal conservatives voting for Obama? I would like to meet them because voting for him makes them no fiscal conservative. The signs were all there that he was going to spend, spend, spend to redistribute wealth.

Any fiscal conservatives on here that voted for ZERO please raise you hand. I want to meet you and find out why you could possibly think he would be a fiscal conservative when his short record showed otherwise. In fact, I would like to meet anyone on here that convinced themselves he wouldn’t be so bad. You got suckered big time!

I called it then. Obama's senate record didn't match his rhetoric back then. Who thought that it would match as comrade in chief? "But this is different."

No it isn't. Fools. I hope all the affluent ones that voted for him pay a crapload in taxes.

No matter, when the time comes they will pull together as always, coalescing like pond scum on a cesspool.

What amazes me is that there apparently were conservatives stupid enough to be sucked in by this snake oil salesman. For shame, for shame.

I know two. Haven't heard a word from them but I think it's akin to the 'favorite football team' analogy.

They'll never admit their team sucks. Or if they do, they still support them.

I just got back in from visiting the neighbors and had the exact same thing happen. I held in the "I told you so" because of their genuine concern.

There was no mistaking it, these two really felt they "stepped in it" with their votes and now 6 months in were scared. He's in his 60's and has been battling various things for a couple of years, this health care thing has been a real awaking.

I don't even feel like rubbing noses in it anymore, we are all in this stink together and even his voters see it now.

Very few will ever feel let down. They are too stupid to understand it.

Even 60 years after the end of Hitlers regime Israel still hunts down his followers.

And so will our next generation of those that obeyed orders from an usurper.

As I’ve posted multiple occasions, many voters IMO mostly of the Independant category simply pulled the lever for Obama because they weren’t going to be racist whether anybody thought of them as such or not. Who knew what they did inside the polling booth, but to them it was “I’ll show them I’M NOT prejudice”, and the lever was pulled for the black guy.

It was stupid, but I’m convinced that happened all over America from what I’ve read, and locally talking to people I learn from between the lines what they did.

Locally there is the doughnut shop about twenty or so of us old retired sorts attend whenever we can get there to solve all the Worlds problems, as well tell stories etc. One of the guys used to come in everyday for several months and tell us all how we should relax, that Obama was going to change everything for the better.

Haven’t seen the bastard since about April. I s’pose he’s attending a different doughnut shop now.

If lying about every single thing while the media hid the truth from the voters is running a "brilliant campaign", then we are doomed.

Talked to a couple of Obama voters last night that weren’t keen anymore on their vote - they are afraid.

I have 2 kids in college, and during the campaign a lot of students were Oboma freaks. Not today. According to my kids, the ex-Oboma freaks are very disappointed. He's just another old guy politicians like the rest of them. They wanted change - they got enslavement.
Today, it's cool to be anti-Oboma. Those who still support him are seen as real odd balls who are "Stuck on yesterday".
