Ronald Reagan's birthplace, a second-story apartment over what was once a small-town tavern in Tampico, Ill., is today marked by a museum. John Adams' birthplace is a national park. Even Rutherford B. Hayes, whose birthplace is today covered over by a BP gas station, merits a metal plaque commemorating the location.
But while most of America's 44 presidents have tourist attractions or monuments of some kind marking their birthplaces, President Barack Obama for several reasons may not be granted the honor. Three obstacles in particular stand in the way:
First, though Obama maintains he was born in Honolulu, Hawaii, the exact location of his birth hasn't been disclosed to the public.
Second, it has been reported that Obama was born in a hospital, and thus far, only one of the American presidents born in a hospital has so much as a sign commemorating the location.
Third, in an exclusive interview, the National Park Service described to WND the slough of red tape and practical obstacles that may prevent Obama's birthplace from ever being honored by the NPS.

Ha! Ha! ... Ain’t that a b..tch! Wherer we gonna put that monument? Mars?
This was discussed here on Jan 22, including some humorous comments.

This is a well-written and timely article by Mr. Zahn.
Left off the “K” in front of NPS.
“Good morning, White House”
“Hello, this is the Acme Monument Company. We have the birthplace monument ordered for the President. Where do we deliver this and set this up?”
“Just a moment, please.”
“Hello, Mr. Acme....”
“Err, no, I’m not Mr. Acme. This is Joe. I’m the plumber. I make sure the monuments are plumb.”
“Oh, Ok, Joe the Plumber. Please hold—I am checking for you.”
“Lady, I ain’t got all day—where do you want this thing?”
“Joe, I have an answer for you!”
“Well, what is it?. C’mon—I got a crew of day laborers here from Home Depot and it’s almost siesta time.”
“Well, Joe, the President’s office says that the location for the monument has been, err, ahh, sealed.”
“Hey, lady, sealed, smealed. I need a location to drop this thing. Do you know how embarrassing it is to drive around with a pair of big stone ears on your flatbed truck?”
“Joe, it’s a matter of national security. The location is sealed.”
“No problem, lady. Tell Mr. Obama to look out his window. I’m dropping it off next to the cheesy plastic patio table where he drinks his beer. Thanks for nuttin’.”
The Republicans should introduce a rider to the Health Care bill moving through Congress authorizing the investigation and construction of an Obama birthplace monument and/or plaque at the Kapi’olani (Honolulu) hospital. Let the Democrats defend putting the rider on ice...
There will be a barge that is towed between Hawaii to Kenya on a continuous loop.
Lucky you. They tore mine down (and gave the name to a fancy new building/complex).
Mine is upscale apartments now.
In the middle of a jungle in Kenya. Out front will be a couple of spears stuck in the ground with human skulls on them, a witch doctor dancing around throwing sparkle dust and a bunch of bare-breasted women right out of National Geographics grinding corn.
Ditto for me. I’m 58 and know exactly which hospital I was born in and the home Mom & Dad brought me home to. It was a small house Dad built himself next to his Dad’s house. There were lots of family stories about those early years of Mom & Dad’s life after the war ended.
There are so many mysteries about this Obama person that nobody really knows who he is. And the biggest mystery is why all the secrecy and coverup of his past.
