Is making a racist remark about President Obama's daughter worse than wishing a conservative talk show host would die?
Such should be asked of MSNBC's Keith Olbermann who on Monday was quite angered by some truly tasteless comments about Malia Obama posted last week at Free Republic.
Yet, back in April when Olbermann published a diary at the liberal website Daily Kos concerning his waterboarding challenge to Sean Hannity, the "Countdown" host wasn't at all outraged by the venomous attacks made on the Fox News star which included some Kossacks wishing he would die.
For those that can stand it, here's a sampling of such commentary:

Now, these comments were posted almost three months ago, and are still up...in a thread created by Olbermann no less.
Did he enter this thread and chastise those making such remarks?
Not that I can see.
Did he contact Markos Moulitsas and complain about this behavior?
Well, if he did, the comments are still available.
Did he make Moulitsas the "Worst Person in the World" for allowing such commentary at his website?

Has he boycotted the site as a result?
Nope, he's written three diaries since.
Newsbusters has done a good job of pointing out the hypocrisy of Olbermann and the Daily Kos.

I dont spend much time at Kos or DU but I have seen similar comments about Laura Ingraham and Tony Snow(i.e. “looking forward to their cancers killing them” type remarks.) The Laura Ingraham comments were so bad that Elizabeth Edwards actually went on DU to intervene.
She wasted her time, obviously.
Michelle Malkin has it right about these folks. A lot of them are simply unhinged.

MSNBC's David Shuster, who was suspended in 2008 for proclaiming that Chelsea Clinton was being "pimped out" by her then-candidate mother, on Monday challenged a representative of Free Republic as to what he would do to try and "discourage people" from using "hateful, vile language" on the website.
Guest Kristinn Taylor, a spokesman for the Washington D.C. chapter of Free Republic, appeared on the show to battle with the MSNBC Live host over offensive comments that were posted on the site about 11-year old Malia Obama. Taylor combatively contradicted an assertion by Shuster that some racist remarks featured under a picture of the Obama daughter were reposted on the web page after initially being removed: "Well, David, unfortunately, it seems you've gotten your story from the Daily Kos, which is not a reliable source of information."

On Monday, CBS's David Letterman on the "Late Show" shamelessly went after the Alaska governor and her family during his opening monologue, as well as in his "Top Ten" list.

Sandra Bernhard issued a blistering warning to Sarah Palin during a performance of her new one-woman show.
The Republican V.P. nom would be "gang-raped by my big black brothers" if she enters Manhattan, Bernhard said. Palin is said to be making a campaign stop in New York next week.
"[The gang rape comment] is part of a much larger, nuanced, and yes, provocative (that's what I do) piece from my show about racism, freedom, women's rights and the extreme views of Governor Sarah Palin, a woman who doesn't believe that other women should have the right to choose," Bernhard told the Daily News today.

A friend of mine, who happens to be black, used to be a die hard liberal because that was all he knew.
He listened to Rush and Levin for entertainment purposes. What finally made him a conservative was an episode that happened during the 2002 primaries. He walked into the voting precinct for the primary elections and the well meaning grey haired octogenarian lady working that day handed him a ballot for the Democratic primary.

And then there is how the DU made fun of the deaths of the Columbia shuttle astronauts and all the hateful things they were saying while blaming President Bush for it when the story was unfolding live. At least DU mods finally pulled that thread down. I remember TLBshow posting they comments on the thread and it showed the big contrast of how FreeRepublic posters were being respectful and showing solidarity for all involved while the DU people was using the tragic event of the Columbia Space Shuttle disaster to propagandize their agenda and pour out their seething raw hatred for President Bush and trying to blame him for it.
Yeah, but nobody would see it, except for about 12 people.

I once used the dreaded N-word on here and was booted off FR so fast I didn't know what hit me. But since then I rejoined with a new screen name and have used derogatory slang names for Mexicans, Chinese, Koreans, Japanese, Polish, Italians, Germans, English, and Irish all without so much as a complaint. And I am part German, English, and even a bit Polish, for what it is worth. Apparently this site and society in general believes Black people must be protected due to some weakness other races do not correspondingly have. Does anybody know of a single word you could use to signify White people that would get you kicked off of FR? Cracker, Honkey, Typical Whitey, Paleface, Yankee? Honestly as a White guy there is just nothing you can call me that is going to make me feel bad about being White.(sorry liberals)
And why is it that it is OK for Blacks to use the N-word but not others? When I posted the N-word somebody else posted that "I had better be Black", as if that makes a difference on an HTML forum. Why? Because if I'm White I'm not allowed to be an ass if I want, but if I'm Black I can say "racist" things with impunity?
The more the thought police tell me that Blacks deserve extra respect that other races aren't afforded, the more I naturally begin to resent their race as a generality. Meanwhile I'm one of a very few people who actually give a crap that we have outsourced our slavery to China. And when we buy Chinese products we are supporting the enslavement of over a billion Asians who are forced to have abortions if they already have a child so that they can focus their lives on their work in the dangerous sweatshops and not on family. It is slavery and genocide at the same time and we enrich their communist captors with every Chinese product we buy. Not to mention it is bad for our trade imbalance. Why so much concern for what happened to Blacks generations ago and what happened to Jews in WWII and what happened to muslims during the crusades, While nobody does a damn to stop importers from making a fortune off of the slavery that is going on in China and other places. As long as the slave lords aren't White and the Slaves don't live in the USA then there is currently no politically correct reason to oppose the slavery I gather.

There can never, ever be any possiblity that Liberals/Progressives are in any way mistaken because they are absolutely brilliant, smart, all-knowing and intellectually advanced.

Funny thing is there are other slurs for Blacks, but the N-word is the worst of the worst. Everyone was enslaved at some point in history. I am Korean and they too were enslaved by the Japanese before and during World War II. Blacks were involved in the slave trade and owned slaves. You should read Oladuah Equiano’s autobiography. Great book.
