Law on Flu Vaccinations May Be Tested

Evans/Associated Press
PROTEST Hundreds objected to the mandated flu vaccinations.

THE state’s new law requiring young children attending licensed pre-school and child care centers to get flu vaccinations will be tested this week when thousands of children return to classrooms and playrooms after the long holiday break.

New Jersey, the first state in the nation to require flu shots for young schoolchildren, set a Dec. 31 deadline for parents to obtain flu vaccinations for their children. It was part of a new policy requiring a total of four additional immunizations for schoolchildren over the objections of some parents who worry about possible risks from vaccinations.

The requirement applies to children between 6 months and 5 years who are attending licensed day care and preschool programs. State public health experts said that flu shots for young children are important for overall public health.

“Stopping flu transmission among kids will stop flu transmission in the community at large,” said Dr. Tina Tan, the state epidemiologist.

Health officials said they would not know until after the holiday how many children have met the requirement. The state relies on schools, preschools and day care centers to collect immunization records from parents and then forward the information...

--snip--

An advisory panel for the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention said that all children ages 6 months to 18 years should receive an annual flu shot.

In New Jersey, preschoolers are also required to get a vaccine against the germ that causes pneumonia. That vaccination was due at the beginning of the school year. Sixth graders are required to get a vaccine against meningitis and a booster against tetanus, diphtheria and pertussis. Children who enroll in school after the new year, perhaps from other states or countries, must also be vaccinated...

I buy it here... it works -- I know some people pooh-pooh homeopathy until they use it:

>>She said they thought it was due to the vaccines.<<

Actually, I don’t think it’s the vaccines per se, but the combo shots.

A friend of mine has an Autistic son. She has scheduled every sibling with a different schedule of vaccines. Never a combo. They are all fine. The Autistic boy (who is totally non-verbal) was perfect before one of the combo shots at two years old.

Hey, if you don’t like the “regulations” get the hell out! End of story.

Vitamin D3 likely does a BETTER job than any flu shot. Do a little research.

I didn't say it was new, but all the science that's come out since disproving the link between vaccines and the evolving standards of what constitutes autism hasn't made it 'old' news, either. The autism lobby just refuses to move off of some outmoded notion that they heard from the "earth mother" types thirty years ago.

Yes, that's how long ago I first heard about the anti-vaccination types. There was all kinds of that garbage bundled up with the natural childbirth stuff my ex was subjected to when she was having our first child.

I’ll definitely look that up. When I start getting sick I just up fluids (juice, water, gatorade, etc) and fruit. I’ll buy some VitC drops as well. I that won’t work for everything, though.

the combo is horrible for dogs, too. They really only need parvo and distemper... our society is too vaccine crazy without understanding how they even work in our immune systems.

No one knows for certain what causes it... and studies are normally not done by people without a dog in the hunt, which means you cannot rule out or in vaccinations.

The reason why vaccines are required is that high vaccination rates reduce the chance of epidemic. An epidemic requires one person to pass the disease on to several. Having many people immune in the population can cut the chances of that.

In particular, people who are in close proximity to many others, such as those in government schools, receive preferential benefit from vaccination.

Having the government decide on the vaccine and then give it away free is flawed policy. The time required to develop the vaccine gives the virus time to mutate. When there were many different manufacturers and developers, there were several different vaccines available. Some were worthless, but some were effective, others were partially effective. When it was known what the common flu virus for that year had mutated to, doctors had choices of which vaccine to give to each population.

Most healthy adults would be given the least effective vaccines for the placebo effect.
Doctors and nurses would be given the most effective vaccines, with the next, partially effective vaccines given to children and teachers.

The small companies who, through luck, had developed the most effective vaccine that year would sell out. The less effective vaccines would sell some, enough to keep them trying for next year. Some 30% to 50% would actually be immunized each year, which with careful placement is plenty to prevent epidemic.

Now, only one vaccine is available. There is no ability to preferentially place immunity. A much higher vaccination rate is required to get the necessary population immunity. Even so, every 7 years or so the vaccine is ineffective, and people are exposed to the risk of epidemic. At best, there is risk of shortage, as foreign companies that sell to the US government are the only suppliers, and expect some little gain, but no chance for big profits. Quality control problems have led to shortages.

The purpose: To make the world safe for socialized medicine, the government must require a single vaccine, so that epidemics can occur, justifying even more government intervention.

I’d like to see them mandate Vitamin D3 at 1000 per day for everyone from September to March (more if you live north of Phoenix....) It would make an interesting test, that’s for sure.

There is just one serious possibility for limited immunity from the Avian flu (H5N1). Almost nobody has any resistance to it whatsoever, which strongly contributes to its sky high 60% mortality rate (6 in 10 who catch the disease die).

That limited immunity might exist if people get two vaccination exposures to non-pathogenic H5N1 strains, so that their immune systems can learn to adapt at least partially to this alien and murderous virus.

That is, you have to be vaccinated for any old version of H5N1 once, and let your immune system adapt. And then there has to be a second vaccination of a different, generic strain.

Importantly, this will NOT protect you from the disease, just make it less likely that you will die from it, because it is no longer totally alien to your immune system.

If this technique is proven, then ALL school children must get this two vaccination process. NO exceptions. Not for religion, fear of autism or other side effects.

For this reason, if not by State or federal law, than by presidential executive order in time of martial law.

re: Several universities surveyed Amish communities and found their autism rate is 1/100 of non Amish rates. )))

The Amish marry young and start families young. There is also a theory that older parents (both mom and pop) have a higher incidence of autism. We're having kids much later in life than we used to.

The trouble with blaming vaccines for everything is that it is the one variable than almost all kids have in common. You shake somebody's hand, they drop dead, it was the handshake that did it...

You don’t need to do a study with everyone. A mere 1000 or so would suffice.

But then the autism folks would link autism with D3.

The Amish probably get less exposure to bright lights, government schools, and doctors.

They have a higher rate of depression. I don’t think vaccinations would cure that.

Would children be the only ones to get this Avian flu vaccine? What about the elderly?

“She said they thought it was due to the vaccines.”

no no it’s really due to the bad karma and negative crystal energy.
She should stick to teaching and leave medicine to actual doctors.
