Ganymede Age Threatened by Magnetism (moon does not fit old-age view of our solar system)

The biggest moon in the solar system is Ganymede, the third large moon out from Jupiter. Larger than Mercury, Ganymede has a heterogeneous surface of dark and light areas (picture), grooved terrain, abrupt changes of landforms, and bright splashes where impacts have scarred its icy surface (gallery). What goes on inside, though, is more surprising: it has an intrinsic magnetic field. Researchers could only make it last for the assumed age of the solar system by appealing to special conditions that are not necessarily compatible with theories of its formation...

They have too much at stake.
No “billions of years” means creation.
Creation means Creator.
Creator means objective morality.
Objective morality means I’m right or I’m wrong.
If I’m wrong, I’ll be judged.
I don’t want to change my lifestyle or behaviors.

They presume that Ganymede has “always” been a satellite of Jupiter. It may have wandered in later on and got “captured” by Jupiter.........and grew as time went by.....

Evolution is a
biological theory. This article is on the
physics of magnetism. Confusing and conflating the two is typical of YEC self-imposed ignorance.
Therefore. "Will you STOP posting inconvenient articles that look bad for evolutionary axioms?" =

And not conflating them is typical of those too blinkered to understand that the two arise from the same philosophical substratum of evolutionism.

Wrong orbit for a capture. Too circular and exactly at the equator. But like I said the core heat model only tells you the time since it was last molten, not since when it formed. If Shoemaker Levi 9 had hit Ganymede instead of Jupiter it would have basically rendered the entire moon molten and reset the clock.

"And not conflating [biological evolution and physical cosmology] is typical of those too blinkered to understand that the two arise from the same philosophical substratum of evolutionism." Bravo Sierra! I am a born-again Christian, believer in Divine Creation, and a physical chemist (with a baccalaureate minor in biology, BTW). I am no fan of Darwinism, but I certainly do not mix his philosophical cant with my understanding of the physics of God's created Universe.

- How many galaxies could Moses see? (And did he know they were galaxies?)
- How many galaxies could Darwin see?
- How many galaxies can Hubble see?

From your link:
“Our universe is perfectly tailored for life. That may be the work of God or the result of our universe being one of many.

I am no fan of Darwinism, but I certainly do not mix his philosophical cant with my understanding of the physics of God's created Universe. Why is it so hard for you to understand that I'm talking about worldviews here? Physics, biology, it doesn't even matter, okay? What I'm talking about is the underlying philosophy that evolutionary materialists use to interpret what they choose to allow inside their self-contained fact-spaces. On that point, it doesn't matter diddly whether we're talking about the moons of Jupiter or fruitflies.

Thank you for sharing your testimony and your insights, dear brother in Christ!

AH! Now I understand: "evolutionist" is your pet term for anyone who disagrees with your simpleminded mis-interpretation of Genesis...

If the Dr. thinks 1000 = 1,000,000,000, then its hard to know what he’s saying.

In the time it takes me to post one thread, you post 5 or 6!
What kind of Coffey do you drink?
Of course, I don’t drink Coffey, which might have something to do with it...

Coffey? Is that how you spell it?
Bit by the spell checker again!
Should be coffee...
(Had to Google it, maybe I need coffee...)
Where are you from, FRiend?
At the moment, I hail from underneath a large pebble.
What do you expect from a Knuckle Dragging Young Earth Creation Believing Neolithic Goat Herder?

At first I thought it was just a typo, but when you spelled it the same way twice, I figured you might live outside the US.
So, did you get a good deal on your oversized pebble? How do you deal with people that vow to leave no pebble unturned? Inquiring minds want to know :o)

So, did you get a good deal on your oversized pebble?
It was a gift from my well meaning parents.
How do you deal with people that vow to leave no pebble unturned?
A chiropractor and a psychiatrist opened a joint clinic on the path leading to my pebble.
I hear business is brisk.
