I have been reading some of the crap on this board after the election and some of it is shocking.

I've seen plenty of vanities...but to me vanities aren’t the problem....the messages contained in many of them reflect a mindset that IMHO has no place here.

I've always thought of FR as a place where Conservatives (not Republicans) dominate and idiots kind of hang around the periphery sniping with their stupid notions. But (more and more) you read some of the dumbest crap here...and then see a coterie of nitwits chiming in with their agreement. Allot of it is the type of stuff borne out of mindsets (everything but the truth) that dominate on liberals sites.

IMHO, Jim should boot a grip of these dummies like he has before. They run off and start their own anti-FR websites (that eventually die on the vine). But they do not belong here anymore.

We're not about opposition for the sake of opposition. We (Conservatives) have principles. But you can’t violate your principles while trying to promote them at the same time. Lying, half-truths, vague implications, charges without a shred of evidence, paranoia, etc, etc. That is not how we get down. Or at least shouldnt be.

Some of you all need to check yourselves. And if you don’t, I hope for the good of this website, Jim does.

The FReepathon has gone from a one week event to a 3 to 5 week event. I don't think FR will survive another purge.

We used to tolerate minor differences of opinion with the knowledge that on the vast majority of issues, we still agreed. The threads here used to be a vast resource for learning, but of late they have become shouting matches with little or no intellectual exchange. I rarely read the threads anymore. It seems tragic to me that we want to run off everyone who doesn't meet our own narrow definition of 'conservative,' so that we can maintain our purity of thought.

The many ‘Me Too’s’ have detracted from the significance of this site. I will read the first twenty or so responses and then it is on to the next topic unless there are some insightful posts... If I see many responses on a hot topic, I will go to the last page and see if it has anything worth backing up on, usually not...

I also skip to the next topic if I see UTUBE or DIGG in the topic thread.

You know, I may get flamed myself for this but I agree. I DONT want this site to turn into DU and Kos for Pubies. This site had taught me more in a few years than I ever could have learned on my own and it’s where I check in each morning. There is an amazing amount of talent and knowledge here but just lately it’s become harder and harder to see it. We cannot fight the deranged libs if we become them.

I understand your overall concern and tend to agree with it. Yes, FR has taken an interesting turn this election cycle, more so than perhaps usual. Unfortunately, this election cycle, there was not a strong conservative presidential candidate, but the lesser of two evils was far closer to our position than the current president-elect. Yes, I am in strong opposition to our president-elect, but I wish I had a more positive reason for rooting for the losing ticket. I for one, was fine with the opposition shown to the liberal winning ticket. I also for one, am willing to put up with a few more insane vanities during the next week until the shock of what has happened wears off.

I am convinced that we need to be more focused on principles at this forum and am convinced that we can as conservatives get more focused. But please have a heart and let those of us in mourning get over the temporary death of conservatism. We need it.

Hey AM just a suggestion. When a User gets banned or suspended could you put their handle in RED so we do not have to click on their name to see if you did it yet. Seems likely that it would reduce server traffic and some “IBTZ” posts.

In a market place of ideas shouldn't it be the decision of the consumer to make those decisions?

This is the same thought process that is used at DU to drive out dissenters.
It is the same process that is used at You-Tube to eliminate ideas the mob doesn't agree with.
Thinking like this will soon bring back The Fairness Doctrine for talk radio.
