Obama will win... and that's good news for the GOP
VANITY | 10 01 2008 | drzz

Posted on 10/01/2008 6:51:23 AM PDT by drzz

I know, the title is creepy, but before jumping at me, just consider these facts...

1. IT IS THE WORST TIME TO BE IN POWER FOR ANY NATIONAL PARTY America has been suffering the worst economic crisis since 1929. Americans are blaming the party ruling the executive branch for this rout, and that's why McCain numbers are so low. Now think that Obama will begin his presidency with America depressed. The power will be 100% controlled by Democrats, and the anger of the folks will turn against them.

2. DECMOCRATS WILL HATE OBAMA JUST AS THEY NOW HATE THEIR DEMOCRATIC CONGRESS Obama is unable to achieve his promises, either on healthcare or social security. There is simply no money for these projets in tough economic times. An Obama presidency won't be Democratic at all, just as the 2006 democratic Congress ended up being the all-time worst, according to Democrats themselves.

3. - AMERICAN FOREIGN POLICY IN TOUGH ECONOMIC TIMES WILL PURSUE STATUS QUO, NO MATTER WHO IS IN CHARGE With an economic crisis at home, Americans will be careful and will probably cherish the status quo abroad. Israel is ready to strike Iran. If Israel moves wisely, the Iranian threat could be destroyed, even with Obama at the White House.

4. - THE BEST WAY TO DESTROY DEMOCRATS IS TO LET AN UNEXPERIENCED, RADICAL LEFTIE RULE THE COUNTRY DURING A RECESSION American taxpayers will never forget an Obama presidency... and this will open a freeway for Republicans in the decades following 2012.

Respectfully disagree. B Hussein Obama launched his career in the living room of an unrepentant American terrorist. This man can NOT be allowed to be Commander in Chief.

No sale, drzz.

We cannot turn both ends of Pennsylvania Avenue over to unreconstructed Commies. The damage they could do would take decades to undo, if it was possible at all.

Look to our neighbors to the North, the Conservatives in Canada were down to 2 seats in Parliament, and now they’re back in power and likely to win the next Canadian election.

Sometimes it’s good to be “in the wilderness” for a few years, and allow the necessary blood-letting to take place in the party.

Obama winning is not good for the GOP or the country.

We will lose on the supreme court, we will lose on the second amendment, we will lose on abortion, we will lose abroad, and we will lose our prosperity, etc., etc..

It will take a generation (or more) to recover from an Obama administration in league with both houses of Congress.

OBAMA IS IMPLICATED IN THE FINANCIAL CRISIS

NOW WE KNOW WHAT A COMMUNITY ORGANIZER DOES

I'M VOTING FOR SARAH

Assuming that Obama permits the 2012 elections to be held, of course.

If this man is truly as dangerous as his associations suggest, he might just use the economic crisis to create a dictatorship.

Wishful thinking that the country and Dems would turn against their party. I personally thought that when Bill Clinton got elected. I was confident that the country would turn right after 1 term of Clinton and we saw how that turned out. He probably could have won another term or two.

Point four is not substantiated by history. FDR presided over a Second Great Depression in 1937. The result? He was elected two more times, and everyone has forgotten that the Depression got worse again before it got better.

You forget, socialists can always argue that it’s the market’s fault. If it’s plausible now, it’ll be plausible down the road.

The current version of the GOP would implement the very same programs. The GOP needs an enema, and it will be better down when out of power.

Just remember, if it wasn't for Jimmy Carter, we wouldn't have gotten Reagan.

There is a major flaw in your assessment. The MSM .

If B.O. gets elected , all of the doom and gloom will have been erased . If bad news does seep out , the Republicans and Bush will get the blame . The MSM still has far too much power and will cover for B.O. .... he will ride a wave of good times whether real or imagined ...

However, what causes me great concern is that the next president will surely get to appoint two (perhaps three) Supreme Court Justices. Granted that Brocco would be a one-termer, if elected; but a leftist court will prove to be a huge obstacle to his conservative successor.

Jimmy Carter only served 4 years of elected office as president but continues to muck up things on behalf of his Saudi masters.

And Bush would be blamed, just as he was blamed in 2000 for “ruining” the economy by talking about the coming recession DURING the Clinton administration.

Yeah, it sure hurt FDR and the Dems when they took over in 1933 during the Great Depression. In 1933, the Dems held a 333 to 117 [plus 5 Ind.] advantage in the House and 59-36 in the Senate. During the period 1933 to 1994, the Dems held the House for all but four years.
