Haha...that would be cool.

If I lived over there I’d build two half-mile high towers with flagpoles on top connected by a 50-mile long bridge......across the Persian Gulf.

Lol..this is fun. I see why they get into it.

"...engineering feets..."

Yeah, I'll bet they need a very sturdy foundation.

Population is a problem we should not look at. Could be a nightmare.

What floor is the Bill Clinton suite going to be on?

Right below the Bush Executive Floors. There's more of them ya know so they'll require more office space than Clinton. Besides Bush's are likely more UAE friendly given recent dealings.

Alaska is in a boom cycle of oil revenue right now, but this will end within three years and the crash will be astounding. Alaska has been though the cycle before, but the young people have no direct experience of it and would be advised to get out while they can.

Oh, I just had another idea. The parking garage should look like one of the towers. And it should have giant elevators that take cars up and down. Maybe even build a hybrid tower that has every other floor for parking, in between the levels for offices, shopping etc.

The oil revenues have to go someplace. Too bad the building will outlive the oil by only a few years. They will be back to tents and camels eventually.

Dubai's oil is running out in just a few years, which is why they've been working so hard to build a tourism industry to fall back on.

and the region revert to its natural state.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
That’s what they’ve been saying about the great plains region with respect to farming for a hundred years. It’s not going to happen in our lifetimes. It’s not going to happen in this century.
......They will be back to tents and camels eventually.....
I think tyour knowledge of the situation is severely deficient.
The Emirates are building ( have built)a world class business, manufacturing, distribution and financial center that will rival those in Europe, Singapore and even Hong Kong.
Farming at least can continue at some level when the economy crashes on the great prairie. Dubai is ecstatic about filling a few swimming pools: not a great natural state to fall back to.
the Burj Dubai will stretch half a mile into the sky over the United Arab Emirates
I read stuff like this and I can't even comprehend the engineering and stuff that goes into its making. I'm just trying to figure out the best way to clean my deck and am spending countless hours on the internet...........
Tour guide voice: “You have arrived at the observation deck of the Burj Dubai. If you look left you’ll see the Persian Gulf, to the right desert, to front desert and to the rear, desert.”
