~EXCERPT~
Hillary Rodham Clinton has run away with the votes of Roman Catholic Democrats in nearly all the primaries, often beating Barack Obama by two to one or better, exit polls show. In New York, she received 66 percent of the Catholic vote to his 30 percent.
I didnt go to bed until 1 in the morning waiting on the results, said Joe Quinn, a Catholic who is a building superintendent on the Upper West Side. I slept very well, let me tell you.
Does it matter whom Catholics like Mr. Quinn voted for in the Democratic primaries? By November, it may not. Still, Catholics, who make up about a quarter of the registered voters in the country, have backed the winner of the national popular vote for at least the last nine presidential elections, going back to 1972.
The Catholic scorecard: five Republican and three Democratic presidents, and one popular-vote-winning but presidency-losing Democrat, Al Gore.
No other large group has switched sides so often, or been so consistently aligned with the winners. Over that same period, a majority of white Protestants typically voted Republican, while blacks of all faiths and Jews strongly backed Democrats.
Catholics are the last swing voters left in the country, said Brian ODwyer, a Manhattan lawyer and a Clinton supporter.

How can you be a good Catholic and vote for those who openly support the practice of baby murder? mmmmmmmm?
Key word is GOOD
No Traditional Catholic such as myself (i.e. Latin Mass; pre Vatican II) would even dream of voting for her (or Obama, Julie, etc.) Leaves you to wonder if maybe the Trad Catholics are the True Catholics. Pope Benedict has clear leanings in that direction as well.
If you look at actually practicing Catholics who attend Mass at least 4x a month, it's quite a different story.
At the Catholic school were my girls attended I would say at least 80% of the people I knew were liberal.
stick a fork in her, then.
nytimes understands catholics the way the enquirer understands starlets.
It shows you, money comes first, sad to say. Just give me the government goodies.
Kumbaya Catholic = Liberal
Those of us who hate the “Happy Catholic” era, are conservative.
I could never vote for her or Obama. Never. Nor can I vote for someone who wants to take tax money to fund embryonic stem cell research.
They don't realize that the Dems are no longer the party of the hardworking bluecollar Catholics. Nobody has told them that the Dems are voting to kill little babies . . . and the news media is not about to clue them in.
Of course, a lot of priests got caught up in the madness after VCII, and they haven't helped illuminate the issues for their flocks . . . .

You can't. The "Catholics" mentioned here are cherry-picker/grocery-cart "Catholics" who only observe their faith so long as it accommodates a life of sin.
Really... are Roman Catholics “generally” that stupid?..
There are still those who think all democrats are like John Kennedy. I went into a house to make a phone because of car trouble a few years back. The man who let me use his phone had three pictures on the wall, Jesus, John Kennedy and the Pope.
Catholics pushing democrats make me sick. The new priest at my church pushed democrat talking points, aired Gore’s “documentary”, and even asked parishoners to sign letters to government on farming subsidies. Enough - I stopped going there. As a Catholic, I can understand the concepts of helping the poor and keeping God’s world beautiful, but stopping mass unwarranted murder trumps it all. How is he to go to our Maker and say well, I led my parish to fight hunger, the poor and to make Your world beautiful - so please overlook the fact that by doing so, I helped ensure that millions of babies were denied Your gift of life. Please!!!
Maybe Hillary is getting the votes of Catholic Democrats because they are mostly Hispanic.
Quote from former Boston mayor and former U.S. ambassador to the Vatican Ray Flynn:
Sure, Ill tell you who I voted for -- Hillary Clinton. I could give you plenty of reasons why, too, but the first one is the most important: Her husband gave me a job. And a pretty good one. Look, I happen to come from the old school, and that happens to be a place where loyalty means everything."
Hell, Id vote for you if you gave me a job."
Anyone who has ever wondered how someone like Adolph Hitler could become so popular just needs to understand the repulsive depravity of this pathology -- which I like to call "Irish Welfare."
