By the time they get done with it it will just be another entitlement program and not a dime will go back to anyone that actually paid some taxes.

The Repub plan had a lower income ceiling.
My guess is that the Dems know the richer ones won't spend the $ but will either save or invest it.
They are tricky...they are coming across as generous with this plan but they are bloating the payout here with funds that won't even stimulate the economy.
The Dems' plan with this stimulus is actually to slow down the economy not stimulate it.
This will stimulate the economy like taking a bucket of water from the deep end of a pool and pouring it into the shallow end will make the shallow end get deeper.

I sure as hell want to know who would deny economic assistance to senior citizens.

A day or two? Hell, there should be a drop box for your return and yearly check right in front of the voting booth....
I think this needs to go into committee for at least two years to make sure it is well thought out!

I can see Pelosi standing next to the Soup Nazi (dressed as Uncle Sam) saying “NO CHECK FOR YOU....1 YEAR...NO, 5 YEAR!”
AND, the net amount paid to the gov’t needs to be POSITIVE before you can cast your vote.

Bush has already said he will veto anything that comes to him that is different from what was originally agreed upon. Not that I’m in favor of this ‘stimulus package’, but clearly the libs are just using it as a political weapon instead of actually wanting to do anything to help the economy.
I'm with you. I grew up dirt poor and have busted my arse for the past 35 years for the priviledge to earn too much. I don't get crap in this deal and I am pissed.

You might make people ‘think’ about the future, and how hard it might be to have a very small rebate come tax time a year from now.
That is because the only “economic solution” they are familiar with is raising taxes, and wealth redistribution... Neither of which benefit the economy, no matter how one spins it.
I weep for our Republic, or what little is left of it...
I don’t have kids at home but do have seven dogs and cats. They eat more than the kids used to. Where’s my animal rebate??
