ARLINGTON, VIRGINIA - Republican presidential candidate Ron Paul today concluded a four-day western tour. Beginning Wednesday, September 12, Dr. Paul visited Los Angeles, San Francisco, Seattle and Salt Lake in City in successive days. Highlights of the very successful trip included:

• * High dollar fundraisers that brought in over $350,000.

• * Substantial earned media from top outlets in each host city.

• * A speech at the University of Southern California to 800 students.

• * An impromptu walk through the streets of San Francisco with 400 supporters.

• * A lecture at Seattle University that drew 550 students.

• * A rally in Seattle attended by 1,300 supporters.

• * A celebration of life and liberty in Salt Lake City that drew over 1,000 participants.

"We are succeeding to garner significant support in cities as diverse as San Francisco and Salt Lake City" said campaign manager Lew Moore. "Dr. Paul is showing that the message of freedom is popular throughout this nation."

Yeah, I remember that they - the neo-cons - were big for Reagan, for obvious reason. They all supported freedom. Ron Paul thinks freedom is so important that we make sure that we keep it to ourselves even if the slightest efforts would spread it elsewhere. Reagan, and great thinkers like Norman Podhoretz, recognized that the threats from Communism to freedom in one place was nearly always going to endanger all free nations. Today, Podhoretz continues this noble struggle in his efforts to help people see clearly the threat posed by al Qaeda. Of course, to Run Paul and his “real” conservatives al Qaeda isn’t that much of a threat and what harm it’s done is our fault. That’s a long way from Reagan.

Actually, anti marijuana people should be in favor of industrial hemp. It is a very low grade of marijuana and still grows wild in some parts of the country. It is known as ditch weed. You couldn’t get high from it, if you chained smoked it all day. Industrial hemp would make the growing of high grade marijuana much harder on open ground. Pollination from the industrial hemp would lower the potency of the higher grade pot plants.

Nothing wrong with speaking in liberal cities. These folks are still Americans and have been misguided from years of Democrat propaganda.

This is one of the many reasons why Paul enjoys support from all across the political spectrum. If liberals vote for him, who cares, their vote counts just as much as a conservative.

The only candidate who might be stronger on border immigration is Duncan Hunter.

Hunter likely won't reduce the handouts, IMO. Paul will get rid of all the freebies and make it easier to do business here so companies won't have to resort to hiring illegals. Plus Paul supports a militarized border, with Army troops on the border, in addition to a fence.

I don't think our Founding Fathers visualized a bunch of individuals making a career of politics.

It's different when you're a Congressman. You can't just serve 2-3 two-year terms and then voluntarily quit. I would rather have Paul in the people's House than serving 20 years in the Senate and be disconnected from the people. Besides, Paul resigned his House seat after he lost to Gramm in the 1984 Senate primaries and returned to medical practice. He then came back in 1997.

He's been in Congress for about 20 years, but has he accepted all the perks that go with it? He's never participated in the Congressional pension or voted for a pay raise.

Imagine his turnout if he would of timed his visit to coordinate with the Seattle Hemp Fest.

He is a capital “L” Libertarian and should be running as one

Does a capital L libertarian support border security and an end to foreign trade agreements? Or is pro-life as Dr. Paul is?

instead of trying to harpoon the GOPs chances of beating Hillary.

(A) Paul said he won't run as a 3rd party or independent candidate, for the millionth time.
(B) Paul is running as a Republican in the primaries Please explain to me how he's helping Hillary win, unless I didn't get the memo Hillary has become a Republican.
(C) It's not Paul's problem if the GOP loses just because folks don't hold their noses for the GOP nominee and end up staying home or writing in Paul's name.

Good, so do I. Do you have any idea what the benefits of Hemp are? The Declaration of Independence was written on Hemp. Hemp can be used for fuel for vehicles or paper or clothing.

You'd have to smoke a telephone pole of hemp in order to get "high", and that's before you'll die from the toxicity. It's impossible to grow marijuana alongside hemp as the two products are different. As for marijuana, let the states deal with it, legalize it, tax it, regulate it, and most of our drug-related problems would go away.

Sorry, the only person I'm supporting in the general is Fred Thompson, and even then he'd have to pick a young, conservative VP. No Jeb Bush or Huckabee or Giuliani. My vote goes to Paul in the primaries.

It details a small part of this clowns political insanity.

He voted against a condemnation of the Sudanese government’s program of genocide in what the leftwingnuts call ‘Darfur’.

He voted against a resolution honoring Rosa Parks.

He voted against a demand that Vietnam release political prisoners.

And he apparently couldn’t tell the difference between Bush and Gore, or Bush and Kerry.

Every conservative I know could easily tell ‘the difference’ but not Obi Ron....(shakes head)

And to top it off, he doesn’t have the strength of his own convictions to say he voted for both Gore and Kerry, claiming ‘it doesn’t matter now’.
