What's an amnesty among these friends?
The Washington Times ^ | Wes Pruden

Posted on 05/22/2007 7:38:49 AM PDT by murdoog

The Kennedy-Kyl immigration amnesty bill has a little something for everybody. But it isn't likely to be a gift that keeps on forgiving. The chicken-plucking, swimming-pool cleaning, potato-digging, housekeeping, diaper-changing and busboy industry gets the inexhaustible supply of cheap, easily abused immigrants it covets, and the politicians get a nigh-inexhaustible supply of exploitable new voters satisfied with a few tossed bones, promises and a bankrupt welfare state.

Any idea why he calls it the “Kennedy-Kyl” bill rather than the “Kennedy-McCain” bill?

It’s because McCain has, “never supported amnesty.”

Perhap’s McCain’s prestige is a little tarnished?

He calls it Kennedy-Kyl because Kyl was the leading Republican negotiator. Some negotiator. My senator, who i have previously supported, got rolled like a Saturday night drunk by Teddy. Or better, Teddy did a ‘Mary Jo’ on Kyl.
I may be an ex-Republican if this shamnesty bill passes.

Bottom line. It’s a Democrat bill.

I loved the line about 'goober peas from China..'
Boiled peanuts are the single element of southern cooking (because I don't consider cheese and mac to be 'southern') I'll never adapt to.

However, and note that I support the president and voted for him twice, I did NOT sit out the last elections...etc..etc:

So far as I can tell, the only thing in this proposed bill that GWB is not preordained to support lovingly is the period of time needed to fully legitimize today's illegals: he'd rather see it done overnight.

This is being presented as a democrat bill but in my opinion it is everything (almost) that our republican president wants.

Please try to avoid insults and eternal ostracism, but I'd really like to have someone detail what in this proposal has NOT been telegraphed in advance by President Bush.

Thanks.

(Hint: I tend to think of this thing as "Vincente's Revenge" since Fox isn't around to suck up the credit.)

If Kennedy is involved there is something fishy going on.

Actually it should be called the Bush-Kennedy Bill.
That also shows the massive betrayal.

“...yokels wear shoes now...” Not only that, but some of us can feed ourselves. It occurs to me more and more that those in Washington are merely parasites. They feed themselves by sucking at the public teat. Their world is so far removed brom ours they could never have a clue.

Although I always voted Republican, (no longer) I couldn’t tell you how unerving it was to have it reported that Bush didn’t know what a bar code was when taking a tour of a grocery store. Wonder if he knows what the term, 10-20-10 means? Or, 13-13-13?

If Kennedy is involved there is something fishy that will destroy America going on.

There I fixed your worthwhile thought to make it even more inclusive.

Anything that removes the threat of deportation of illeagal aliens is amnesty.

Karl Rove is sincerely seduced by the idea that he can make Christians of Muslims (in a manner of speaking) and Republicans of poor Mexicans, but he must have been smoking something stronger than Lucky Strikes to imagine he can inspire the yokels with immigration legislation with Teddy Kennedy's name on it.

A little tarnish on Karl's shiny armor!

Today is a different day in Washington," Mr. Chambliss told his constituents. "Republicans are not in control. We could either sit on the sidelines and we could throw rocks, or we could become engaged and make what we knew was a bad bill, better."

A. Jorge Boosh could veto. Republicans aren't in control but neither are Democrats (supposedly).

B. They had 4 years to get stuff done, but the Frist-Boosh cabal prevented any conservative measures from being passed.

Time to send more of these:

Very disappointing to see this after Club For Growth and other conservative organizations supported Kyl's re-election in '06.

Why can't we close the border and enforce employer sanctions before we do anything else (like the Zamnesty)?

Incumbent senators like Kyl and Kennedy and McStain and the others are exactly the persons most responsible for this crisis of invasion, lawlessness, the destroying of schools and hospitals and spiraling costs in welfare. Now they want to "fix" it by just legalizing their own mess and the wanton neglect that endangers us all.

Destroying the economy and bringing in hordes of illiterate Third Worlders is not a solution to anything.

Amazing that the most important fact is missed in this sentence.. "DEMOCRAT VOTER"..

It’s going to be a race as to whether the country ends up speaking Spanish or Arabic.

Maybe speaking Spanish while facing Mecca five times a day.

We could either sit on the sidelines and we could throw rocks, or we could become engaged and make what we knew was a bad bill, better.

The classic reasoning of the collaborator. There is a strong element of the Republican party that revels in minority status, they love not having to be in control and risking confrontation with the media-based establishment. All they have to do to ensure their continued place at the trough is take care of big business and con the rubes who are their voters. That's what Chambliss means by "better" in the quote above.

This is a very telling report done by Zogby a couple years ago.

[snip]

Americans and Mexicans have widely divergent views of border issues, according to a new poll by Zogby International.

Zogby found that a large majority of the Mexican population believes the southwest territory of the U.S. rightfully belongs to Mexico, and that Mexicans should have the right to enter the U.S. without first obtaining U.S. permission. By contrast, Zogby’s survey of Americans conducted within a few days of the Mexican poll shows a large majority supports reducing immigration levels and wants the military deployed along the border to protect the U.S. from illegal immigration.

Zogby’s poll found that 58 percent of Mexicans agree with the statement, “the territory of the United States’ Southwest rightfully belongs to Mexico.” Only 28 percent disagree, and 14 percent are unsure.

A similar majority, 57 percent, agree with the statement, “Mexicans should have the right to enter the U.S. without U.S. permission,” while 35 percent disagree. Seven percent are unsure.

The survey has a margin of error of 3.5 percent. The Mexico portion of the survey was conducted in Spanish between May 25 and May 26 among 801 adults chosen at random throughout Mexico. The poll was commissioned by Americans for Immigration Control, Inc. (AIC), which advocates increased restrictions on immigration.

Zogby’s survey of American attitudes found wide majorities of Americans also oppose amnesty for illegal aliens. The U.S. portion of the survey was conducted of 1,015 likely voters in the U.S. from May 28 to May 30. It found that 65 percent disagree with the statement, “foreigners residing illegally in the U.S. should be given amnesty.” Just 26 percent of likely voters support amnesty for illegals, while 9 percent are unsure.

A large majority, 58 percent, agree that the U.S. should “admit fewer immigrants each year.” Only 6 percent want “more immigrants each year,” and 30 percent want to “keep immigration at the current annual levels.”

The single largest majority in the entire poll was found among Americans supporting use of the military to guard the border. Fully 68 percent of those surveyed agree with the statement, “the U.S. should deploy military troops on the border as a temporary measure to help the U.S. Border Patrol curb illegal immigration.” Only 28 percent disagree, and 3 percent are unsure.

American grade schools no longer teach civics and most do not teach American History.. even in High School.. Americans generally have become AS DUMB/ignorant as Mexicans about American History..

According to Thomas Deweys PLAN.. Dewey was a marxist globalist..
