“Barney Gumble” is a graduate from the US Merchant Marine Academy. Originally from Jersey, he now works as an engineer in Houston, Texas.

He has lived on an extended basis in Aberdeen, UK. Outside interests include chess, golf, and boxing... all of which he doesn’t have time for because it is also a part-time MBA student.

"Barney" is a regularly attending member of the Roman Catholic Church.
