The others just talked about state's rights when they didn't really want to commit to a particular stance on an issue.

I noticed that too. Easy way to duck a question.

>>>>>>Rudy nrver said he wants to kill all the unborn. That`s far different from what he has said. I know he is wrong on this but it doesn`t help when people make up stuff to try to win a point. Only works at DU

Rudy supports Roe v Wade, he supports abortion on demand, partial birth abortion and government funded abortion for poor women. Rudy believes a woman has a constitutional right to kill her unborn child. What do you think that equates to?

Where I come from that means Rudy has no problem with the killing of all the unborn. Period. That is not something I've made up. Its always been Rudy`s political stance. Its the truth.

Wait until the season ending Law & Order show the last week of May, and you will here plenty from Fred.

I was going to object and say that the season is probably already done shooting. But then I realized it would be pretty weird to see him campaigning on the evening news or in debates and then he'd be on later, playing a role on L&O. So I guess you're right that he probably can't run until the current season of L&O ends.

“I can see a Fred Thompsom/Romney team”

That would be a strong ticket.

Agreed, he does have some sketchy parts of his record on immigration. His recent musings have led us to believe that he’s moved more in our direction. You’re right though, we need to not only wait and see, but hold his feet to the fire on that. My guess is that he’s seen the light on the issue, but that remains to be seen.

I never lived in TN to vote for Fred, but he was a guy who always spoke to me. I’ve always liked him. Even when I disagreed with him, his reasoning was always logical and well explained.

I’m eagerly waiting for him to announce. Also, he’s speaking tomorrow night at the Lincoln Club and I read earlier that it’s going to be aired live on CNN as well as CSpan now.

I like Romney. He would not embarrass the White House like the Clinton’s. Also, he is very polished and appears not to be flustered. Frankly, I would not mind to have any of the candidates in my neighborhood. Unlike the Democrat candidates. Maybe Dr Paul would be scarey.

I have known Mitt and his family for more than 30 years and what you saw tonight and last night if you watched the Leno interview is the real Mitt Romney. There is no false face. He is the same way in person. Yes, he can seem to good to be true but, once you get to know him, you find he is in fact that good. (And that scares the crap out of the Dems!) I have, for many years, considered him to be a mentor and role model in my business and personal dealings.

Did you ever see the movie ‘The Burbs’? He reminds me of Henry Gibson’s character.

If he moved in to my neighborhood, I’d move...lol

Good for Duncan Hunter! He did very well. He just wasn’t given enough time to stand apart.

NOBODY got enough time to stand apart, and since the media has been pushing only the Big3, most don't see anyone other than them.

At the risk of getting flamed, I actually appreciated the format for a first round. It's the first debate I've seen in a long time where I didn't believe the candidates had all the questions in advance and just gave scripted answers. They actually had to think, and some failed miserably. Cull the herd and then get down to some more in depth conversation.

Fred Thompson also was co-chairman of McCain’s 2000 presidential campaign.

“..I felt he wasn’t given the amount of questions that some of the others were. ..”

And they picked the really dumb questions that was asked of Hunter tonight.

The top three questions on the Hunter page on politico.com, which received the largest amount of votes, were not asked of Hunter.

Maybe Politico has a glitch in their system, or maybe they have libs there changing votes.

True. Charisma will carry the day at the end. That is why Hillary Clinton cannot be President, she is the most uncharismatic person to run for President ever, not to mention that she is the rudest, meanest, most arrogant, and most fake.

He is the only one. Scarey ain’t it?

>>>>That realy surprised me too. While there are so many things I dislike about Rudy, I had believed that he would be a quick thinker and faster on his feet. Another myth dispelled.

I got the impression that Rudy might have been trying to come across as a statesman tonight. You know, like Churchill, Reagan, Lincoln. LOL Wrong venue for that approach. Looks like the six year layoff from politics has hurt him severely.

Congress declared war.

No. They didn't. They 'gave' that power to the Executive Branch instead of actually making a declaration of war themselves.

No. Congress declared war. Congress authorized the use of force against a defined enemy.

Congress delclared war.

Yes, there was definitely a focus on McCain, Guiliani, and Romney. I felt Tancredo and Brownback got some decent time. Others were marginalized, and I thought Hunter was often pushed aside.

He is always stiff. He has been stiff since he was a POW. Much of his body was broken and broke again.

If you want a TV pretty boy, it isn’t McCain.
