No one electable is suitable for those sitting in the right side of the tent. If the GOP wants to hold the White House, it needs to be smart. Four or eight years of another Clinton White House will put us back where we were. Were still trying to dig Clintonistas out of the woodwork in order to fight for conservative causes.
McCains straight-talk express is something the MSM has championed to give Hillary a GOP target they can destroy. He doesnt excite anyone but the MSM.
The no-name recognition problems of good people like Brownback and Hunter are goint to keep them from getting traction for the top of the ticket. Theyre great guys but they wont win the general election. They could be teriffic VP candidates.
Newt Gingrich is brilliant and has great ideas but his name recognition has been poisoned by the MSM.
Mitt Romney seems a likable fellow but his religious affiliation bothers too many voters.
Rudy Giuliani had two failed marriages. He has survived elections in New York by adapting a liberal social platform to a conservative management platform big negatives for those who vote on purely social issues.
But Rudy is going to be the GOP candidate. He can take on Hillary with one hand tied behind his back and a smile on his face. The country loves this man. The sooner we start to draw together behind him, the better.
States have pushed the primaries toward early next year. Getting behind Giuliani now will enhance GOP chances in the general election. The MSM cant make him evil as they have other Republican candidates. The man is a talented politician and everyone running for the job of President of the United States now-a-days is a politician.
Hillary has no intention of letting Barak Obama be the Democrat Party nominee. Even though her negatives are off the charts, she is determined to win the nomination. Let the feminazis and Clinton adorers, eager for a return of the Bill/Hill Whitehouse, push her into the top DNC slot.
A year from now it is going to be Hillary vs Rudy. Who do you think the majority of Americans will want in the White House?
This is politics 101 not Sunday school class. The president is an executive and not a religious leader.
My vote is for Rudy.
DREAM ON!
I do not agree that Rudy will be the candidate.
How soon before the general election did Bill Clinton first announce his candidacy?
It's too soon to end the primaries. Our candidate may not have announced his or her running yet. Let's not agree to get behind crap in order that vomit not win the general election. We can do better. Be patient.
I agree about Hillary. Her and Bubba still have that party in a vice grip.
I'm sorry. I will not vote for a pro-abortion candidate, no matter what the political affiliation.
The Lizard Queen will reign.
Guess we should just cancel the primaries then, huh?
I can already tell I will be voting against Hillary but have no idea who I'm voting for?
I don't disagree butI hope you wore your asbestos underwear.
You won't mind if we go ahead and have the primaries, though?
I think that by the time the genelal election rolls around, Hitlery and the MSM would crush Rudy.
Newt Gingrich is brilliant and has great ideas but his name recognition has been poisoned by the MSM.
----
While Rudy may be our guy, Newt is the only bona-fide conservative in the group. He, as you say, is brilliant, experienced beyond Rudy, is a true believer in America and its Constitution, and cares about this country and its people, and clearly is not afraid of the lying and slanderous MSM.
It will be interesting to see who actually ends up in the primaries. Newt may not even throw in his hat. Too bad -- but it would be nice to hear his voice and positions on America in the rhetoric of the primaries.
As long as you have your crystal ball deployed, what's the S&P 500 going to be 13 months from now?
So sorry. Hunter is already on the move. Team Rudy is going to be capsized, and the GOp is going to reestablish itself as the conservative Party. The Arnie/Rudy wing of the party needs to go back into the closet.
I will back Mitt Romney for now.
However, I will observe Ronald Reagan's 11th Commandment, and not speak ill of another Republican.
Except for John McCain. Sorry, I just can't help it. I have to speak ill of him now, because by next Spring, negative comments about Johnnie McQueeg will be against the rules under McCain/Fiengold.
This is the kind of thing that will split the GOP. I'll stay home instead of voting for Guliani.
Now that you have the primaries settled, can you please post the results of the general election? Also, I'd like to know if I've changed my mind and voted for Giuliani. Thanks!
To answer my own question, Bill Clinton did not formally announce his candidacy until October 1991. October! It's only February!
