don't ever remember presidential candidates jumping out of the box so early before a presidential election year. I guess a war has a way of doing that to American politics, especially a war as complicated and difficult as the war in Iraq.
So let's pretend that it's 2008 and the Democrats have settled on their ticket and the Republicans are ready to roll with theirs.

It may be the Democrat's worst nightmare, but it's no treat for conservatives either. The Democrats would be perfectly happy with the policies that come out of a Giuliani - McCain ticket. The only thing that would upset them is they would no longer be in control.

Granted, it's better than any hypothetical Democrat ticket, but Republicans can do so much better. Does the GOP really think this is the only way it can win?

I'm not sure I'd say it's the conservatives' worst nightmare, but it's close.

We would also have to have the majority in both houses to be in control. Having Giuliani-McCain and as Pres & VP would be a RINO and unstable RHINO head of our country.

Democratic Party's Worst Nightmare
One on hand, hard core liberals enter the White House, on the other hand....Um, well, nevermind.
Oh yeah, they're terribly upset. It's a left wing Win/Win.

It sounds more like conservative's nightmare, I think. I like Rudy, but I expect him to have a more conservative on VP ticket... somebody who is seen as a 'credible' conservative and doesn't have a history with most conservatives. McCain doesn't fit that category. (Nor Rudy, I'm aware... that's why the combination of Rudy-McCain is a nightmare).

I like Duncan Hunter.
I see Chuck Yeager is fully endorsing him.
McCain and Gulliani? A conservative's nightmare.

Giuliani-McCain Ticket: Democratic Party's Worst Nightmare The conservative's worst nightmare I think. These two march in lockstep with extreme left wing of the Democratic party on 95% of the issues, so why should Democrats care if they get in other than the plunder will go to people with and R rather than a D

Well to be fair, it's not the extreme left wing of the Democrats.
The extreme left wing of the Democrats believes that G Gordon Liddy was responsible for 9/11, that George Bush really is Hitler cloned in a Brazilian lab by born again Christians looking to kill all the homosexuals, and that Aliens, the Queen, and Colonel Sanders are the TRUE rulers of the earth and the rest is just for show.
They believe that making clothing illegal will improve the world, and the best way to achieve world peace is to bring back a totalitarian Marxist regime with them in charge.
Giuliani and McCain are both liberals, but they aren't THAT liberal (except for maybe that last part).

It would be a stupid ticket. The VP slot should be used to boost young talent; Michael Steele would do well.

I should have been a bit more specific. Guiliani and Hillary share 99% of the same views on the powers of government and the lack of freedom of the serfs. Frankly I don't see much difference between them on the issues, and as far as McCain goes, being instrumental in passing legislation to gut the 1st amendment puts him pretty high in my fecal pantheon.
