After looking at the news for the past 10 days or so, I have to wonder how Democrats can possibly fail in their efforts to take both the House and the Senate.
The national atmospherics dont merely favor Democrats; they set the stage for a blowout of cosmic proportions next month.
No, thats not a prediction, since Republicans still have a month to localize enough races to hold onto one or both chambers of Congress. But you dont have to be Teddy White or V.O. Key to know that the GOP is now flirting with disaster.

Although my posting on this thread may expose hypocracy in my next sentence, I'll say it anyway.
I don't really care who wins. Both clouds have silver linings.
Probably the biggest silver lining if the dems win is that they will be in charge when our economy collapses. That's actually a pretty good reason to vote democrat when you think about it.
I'm sorry it is Nov 2nd?
The thread will be that more sweet.
maybe not for logical voters, but many are increasingly brainwashed.
Also, I can't recall another time where the lametoid major media outlets have been so relentless in their quest to paint Bush and the GOP as evil.
In 2004, many Repubs had the Swifties to rally around.
In 2000, it was time to boot the dem administration.
In 1994, the Contract with America.
We need a focal point, one that not only puts to light the near traiterous actions of the Dem-wimps, but one that shows off the strength of the GOP.
"Trust me, on Nov 3rd, there will be a thread in chat about your lack of faith.
"
Why on Nov. 3rd? Again, the election is on November 7. Did you not know that? Were you confused? You can chat all you want on Nov. 3. I'm going to be really busy that last week before the election, with GOTV activities, so I won't have a lot of time to chat. After the election, though, I'll be happy to chat.
What is Nov. 2nd? Let's see....why that's a the first Thursday of November. Does that day hold some significance for you?
Look, it changes every election. I'm sorry I'm not up to date as you.
BTW, enjoy the thread on Nov 7th;)
It's not a sad commentary, it's the way it always is. You select a candidate because the other is usually awful. I really don't know why people think the political process should be filled with saints between whom it is just so darn hard to choose.
How about...... I would like to live and I'm not ready to surrender to the terrorists.
Now go vote GOP "We will not falter, We will not surrender to the enemy.
"Look, it changes every election. I'm sorry I'm not up to date as you.
"
You see...that's why I'm not paying any attention to your predictions. You don't even know what day the election is. These elections are always on the first Tuesday of November, you see. Have been for a long, long time.
You don't know the day of the election, but you expect me to take your prediction of a winner in Maryland? How bizarre.
Were you planning to vote? Imagine your surprise when you showed up and there was nobody at the polls.
Save your predictions and study the calendar. Make sure to get there on the day the polls are open, OK?
Ah, that's part of it, but not the whole story. Santorum has just gotten way unpopular over time. He's going to lose this election...and to think he was once touted as a likely Presidential candidate. Guess not.
You are incorrect. At least, you are incorrect 1/7th of the time.
You seem happy about it.
Well, it'll have to be on the 8th. I'll be up late watching election returns on the 7th at the local GOP election party, and won't be posting. You can "rip me a new one" on the 8th...the day after the election.
If you can remember that date, that is. That's November 8, 2006...the day after the election. You vote on November 7th. Then, the next day, you get to find out about who won. Then you'll have something to say, I have no doubt. Everyone will.
Remember....VOTE ON NOVEMBER 7, 2006. Not on the 2nd. Not on the 3rd. On the 7th. It's a Tuesday. It's the first Tuesday after you get your paycheck for the last pay period in October. Be sure to vote. Every vote counts.
A lot of states have early voting. Get with the times, Man.
"You seem happy about it.
"
Do I? I'm not. What I'm really unhappy about is that he's the GOP candidate. I'd much prefer someone who can win the election. I'm unhappy about a lot of GOP candidates. Take Kennedy in Minnesota. He's going to lose, too. Fortunately, it's not a seat lost in the Senate, but it could have been a gain. Too bad.
"A lot of states have early voting. Get with the times, Man.
"
They do, but we don't know the results of the election until after the actual election day, so there's really no results to talk about, are there, until late on the 7th or on the 8th.
You can vote early, but you can't get results early.
