An al-Qaida-linked extremist group warned Pope Benedict XVI on Monday that he and the West were "doomed," as protesters raged across the Muslim world to demand more of an apology from the pontiff for his remarks about Islam and violence.
The Mujahedeen Shura Council, an umbrella organization of Sunni Arab extremist groups that includes al-Qaida in Iraq, issued a statement on a Web forum vowing to continue its holy war against the West. The authenticity of the statement could not be independently verified.
The group said Muslims would be victorious and addressed the pope as "the worshipper of the cross" saying "you and the West are doomed as you can see from the defeat in Iraq, Afghanistan, Chechnya and elsewhere. ... We will break up the cross, spill the liquor and impose head tax, then the only thing acceptable is a conversion (to Islam) or (killed by) the sword."
Islam forbids drinking alcohol and requires non-Muslims to pay a head tax to safeguard their lives if conquered by Muslims. They are exempt if they convert to Islam.
In Indian-controlled Kashmir, meanwhile, shops, businesses and schools shut down in response to a strike call by the head of a hard-line Muslim separatist leader to denounce Benedict. For the third day running, people burned tires and shouted "Down with the pope."
Protests also broke out in Iraq, where angry demonstrators burned an effigy of the pope in Basra, and in Indonesia, where more than 100 people rallied in front of the heavily guarded Vatican Embassy in Jakarta, waving banners that said the "Pope is building religion on hatred."
The pope...cited the words of a Byzantine emperor who characterized some of the teachings of Islam's Prophet Muhammad as "evil and inhuman" and referred to spreading Islam "by the sword."

Islam...requires non-Muslims to pay a head tax to safeguard their lives if conquered by Muslims. They are exempt if they convert to Islam.
And once they convert, they are killed if they try to renounce islam and quit being a muslim.
Here's an analogy:

Well, I guess that will teach the Pope to be more specific in his comments - ie. Islam teaches terrorism. Then at least we could have a dialog regarding that rather than "kill the opposition". I'm pretty sure this isn't authentic. According to news reports I've seen, these Muslim "activists" only resort to violence in self defense and if we imperialistic Americans (and our butcherous Jewish friends) would just LEAVE THEM ALONE they'd only be too happy to live their lives in peace and harmony with their non-Muslim neighbors.

The reason that schools can offer scholarships, is because other parents pay full price.
Each to his/her own and YOU shouldn't tell others what how many children they SHOULD have.
Many Muslims have children to use as cannon/bomb/plane fodder.

Some people enjoy having large families; others don't. Some can afford to send multiple children to the best schools and colleges, summer camp, piano or violin or whatever lessons; most can't. Telling others, in stentorian tones, that ALL CHRISTIANS should have at least THREE children is self-righteous, smarmy, and over the line. BTW, what about Jews? We have a lot of very nice FREEPERS who are Jewish.
Lots of people with m any children DO hope that all of their children will get scholarships. There is no other way that they can ever hope to send the children to college. I stated a simple fact......those that pay full price, ARE also paying for other people's kids. And no, endowments and scholarships don't cover all of the costs for scholarship kids.

Well, I have two of college age. One is working and has not decided on what to do in life -- the other has entered a marketing and international finance program in university and yes, he has gained an almost full tuition scholarship.
The one issue that united Darwinian thought and traditional Christianity is that large families is a plus.
Oh, just for your information I paid my way through college and graduate school by...

I then explained that not everyone wants/can afford to have lots of children and that the Muslims have many kids, but use them for cannon fodder. Americans should have children in order to use them for suicide bombing missions.
Then, as I said, you expect your kids to get scholarships. I was not wrong in that assessment. Thank you for proving my point.
