A little food for thought:

Shahab 6

The Shahab-6 is expected to have a range of 5,470-5,500 and 5,632-6,200 kilometers with a 1,000-750-500 kilogram warhead. This range capability will depend on the number of stages used in the launch vehicle and their performance. December 1996 news reports claimed that Iran is developing a 3,500-mile (5,632 kilometers) range missile called Shahab-6 that would be capable of reaching Europe.

Tehran to...

Paris: 2624 miles (4223 km) (2280 nautical miles)

London: 2739 miles (4408 km) (2380 nautical miles)

Moscow: 1529 miles (2461 km) (1329 nautical miles)

Beijing: 3482 miles (5603 km) (3026 nautical miles)

Tokyo: 4766 miles (7671 km) (4142 nautical miles)

Mason City, Iowa: 6565 miles (10565 km) (5705 nautical miles)

Sydney: 8019 miles (12905 km) (6968 nautical miles)

Jerusalem: 974 miles (1568 km) (847 nautical miles)

Tel Aviv: 988miles (1590 km) (858 nautical miles)

Honolulu, Hawaii 8064 miles (12979 km) (7008 nautical miles)

... let me see if I can find a map... it's a poor one, for older missiles, but gives an idea of the area, and number of countries under the gun:

I seriously must ask why this was removed from breaking news.

I mean these are there:

Tom DeLay Cleaning House in Early Returns

DeLay Wins Four-Way Battle for GOP Nomination

and something about Dana Reeve dying, which was an expected yet very sad development, but the Admins remove a post where Iran threatens the US at an IAEA meeting? Wow.

I have no doubt that given sufficient time and help, Iran can develop a usable nuke.
An accurate delivery system is something entirely different.
Unless the Russians, the French or the Germans do it for them.

"When We wish to destroy a city, we first give warning to those of its people who live in comfort to accept our commands. But if they reject us, judgment is irrevocably passed, and we wage utter annihilation." Qur'an - Sura 17:16

Let's talk about all the warnings he's spued...wipe Israel off the map, destroy the history of the holocaust, now pain to the US...

What's nagging me is a statement I saw a few days ago ( didn't think to save the link ) that one of Iran's alleged reasons for building these missiles was "deploying satellites."

The technology for dispensing multiple satellites is a mirror of MIRV technology. If I were along the flight path from Iran to London, I'd be getting nervous.

EVERYDAY THE SAME STORY.

"Mounting Pressure"
"Harsh Words"
"Continued Defiance"
"Growing Concern"
"Yada Yada"

Wake me up when something is actually done about this.

"Asked whether Iran would use an "oil weapon," Javad Vaeedi, deputy secretary of Iran's Supreme National Security Council, told Reuters in Vienna: "We will not (do so now), but if the situation changes, we will have to review our oil policies."

OIL IS THEIR LIFEBLOOD. IF THE MULLAHS IN TEHRAN STOP PUMPING THEY WILL BE BANKRUPT IN A VERY SHORT PERIOD OF TIME.

Iranian Commander Hails Revolution Guards Corps as 'Most Powerful' Force in Region
Mehr News Agency WWW-Text
Monday, March 6, 2006

TEHRAN, Mar. 6 (MNA) Not only is Iran the heart of the Middle East/Caucasus region but it is also the strategic center of the world, the commander of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps, Brigadier General Yahya Rahim Safavi, said on Monday.

Speaking at a gathering of officials from the Supreme Leaders representative offices in the IRGC, he stated that the IRGC is currently the most powerful military force in the Middle East.

At this juncture, we are in an extraordinarily sensitive, complicated, and fateful situation.

The enemies of Islam, at the head of which are the United States and some European countries, are determined to put political pressure on the Islamic Republic. Therefore, we have to prepare the country and people to face the threats of the enemies of Islam, he noted, referring to the pressures put on Iran by the West over its nuclear program.

Identification of the enemy is necessary in order to thwart domestic and foreign political plots and to promote the capability of the country to face the threats, he added.

(Description of Source: Tehran Mehr News Agency WWW-Text in English -- Launched on 22 June 2003, its managing director Parviz Esma'ili stated that the news agency primarily aims at promoting the Islamic culture.)

I notice a similarity between the lunacy of Iran's leaders and the losers named Gore and Kerry.

Not good. Not good at all. It's harder to defeat those who feel they have nothing to lose.

But it is possible. Much of the "mythology" associated with imperial Japan comes to mind.

And there have to be a large number of folks on the other side who are still concerned about the Earthly consequences, and are skeptical of a suspension of the laws of physics.

At least I hope so.

Washington said in a statement to a nuclear watchdog agency meeting, referring to possible sanctions. The statement, obtained by Reuters from a Western diplomat, said "the time has now come for the Council to act" as Iran had defied an International Atomic Energy Agency board resolution last month to suspend all nuclear fuel enrichment activity.

Okay if this follows the typical UN dynamic it will now take another twelve years for the UN to agree to an attack by joining a US led "coalition" which will feature a disproportionate amount of American troops on the front lines or in the air.

Let's cut the middleman out of the equation and do what we should have done decades ago: Break out the Neutron Bomb and liberate.....the oil.
