Yep. The Iranians are going to severely damage our knuckles by repeatedly slamming their faces into them.

We might need a band-aid or something.

VIENNA, Austria - Iran threatened the United States with "harm and pain" on Wednesday for its role in hauling Tehran before the U.N. Security Council over its suspect nuclear program.

"The United States has the power to cause harm and pain," said a statement meant for delivery at the International Atomic Energy Agency's 35-nation board meeting on Tehran's refusal to freeze uranium enrichment. "But the United States is also susceptible to harm and pain. So if that is the path that the U.S. wishes to choose, let the ball roll."

VIENNA (Reuters) - The United States warned
Iran on Wednesday to expect consequences from the
United Nations if it failed to halt nuclear research but Iran said it was capable of inflicting "harm and pain" and could change its oil policy.

The
U.N. Security Council is likely to call on Iran, the world's fourth biggest oil exporter, to stop atomic research or risk "consequences," Washington said in a statement to a nuclear watchdog agency meeting, referring to possible sanctions.

The statement, obtained by Reuters from a Western diplomat, said "the time has now come for the Council to act" as Iran had defied an
International Atomic Energy Agency board resolution last month to suspend all nuclear fuel enrichment activity.

The Security Council is expected to meet on Iran's nuclear program as early as next week, a senior
European Union diplomat said.

But Iran said the United States could also suffer if the Security Council took up the issue of Tehran's nuclear research. The Islamic Republic vowed to pursue the program come what may.

"The United States may have the power to cause harm and pain but it is also susceptible to harm and pain," it said in a statement obtained by Reuters on the sidelines of the IAEA board meeting in Vienna. "So if the United States wishes to choose that path, let the ball roll."

Asked whether Iran would use an "oil weapon," Javad Vaeedi, deputy secretary of Iran's Supreme National Security Council, told Reuters in Vienna: "We will not (do so now), but if the situation changes, we will have to review our oil policies."

Iran has accused Washington of helping to engineer an IAEA board vote a month ago to report Tehran's atomic project to the Security Council.

COMPROMISE OR CONFRONTATION

Iran denies Western suspicions it is secretly trying to build atomic bombs, saying it seeks only nuclear-generated electricity.

"In any case, we will continue to exercise our research and development activities based on our right," its statement said.

"There are two options before us. Either to compromise and cooperate or go for confrontation. We hope and spare no effort that the first option will be realized," it added, alluding to now stalled diplomacy to resolve the crisis.

An Iranian collision course with the council looked more likely after Tehran brushed aside what EU diplomats said was a Russian offer to let it do some atomic research if it refrained from enriching uranium on an industrial scale for 7-9 years.

The United States and its key European Union allies Britain, France and Germany also rebuffed the idea because they said it would not have prevented Iran perfecting bomb technology via enrichment research.

The United States outlined the action expected at the council after it began debate next week on Iran.

"As a first step, we envision a call (by the council) for Iran to cooperate with the IAEA and take the steps identified by the board to restore confidence," said the American statement delivered by the U.S. ambassador to the agency, Gregory Schulte.

"The council will then be able to provide the wider authority the Agency needs to investigate Iran's deeply troubling nuclear activities," Schulte said.

He said the council's approach should be "considered and incremental" in full consultation with all 15 Council members, which include veto-wielding Russia and China, currently opposed to any steps such as sanctions that would isolate Tehran.

"(The council) should emphasize that Iran will face consequences" if does not heed appeals, Schulte said.

He suggested the IAEA consider invoking clauses in its nuclear safeguards agreement with Iran allowing "special inspections" to ease its access to certain information and areas. These could shed light on intelligence reports of military links to nuclear research in Iran.

Glenn Beck did a connect the dots on the Cartoons Violence and came up with Iran and the Security Council Issue and Denmark heading it in June 07' I believe.

But I need Freeper help,

I think the Security Council may go from 5 to 7 members but I can't find any confirmation on it. Who is on the list to become a permanent member, you guessed it Denmark.

Google the head delegate from Denmark, MaryEllen Loj(I can't remember off the top of my head). She seems like a heavy hitter and on our side. She is on many committee's Womens Issues and Anti-Nuke proliferation I believe.

I'm sorry, but I've had enough of this nonsense. Iran has been AT WAR with the US since 1978. It can end now with a small battle where the damage is contained on enemy soil or, if we wait, it will end in a much wider, more destructive war.

Time to lock and load and let slip the dogs of war. Enough with the threats. Let's end this now.

"But the United States is also susceptible to harm and pain. So if that is the path that the U.S. wishes to choose, let the ball roll."

Wow. This looks very, very bad.

Thanks to Dajjal for the following info.

1. Ahmadinejad is not alone in expecting the Mahdi. The Muslim world -- Sunni, Shi'ite & the smaller sects -- have been FLOODED FOR DECADES with propaganda that the "Signs of Qiyamah" are unfolding (the signs of the End Times as fortold in the Hadith).

2. The Mahdi is not just an expected great Muslim leader. He is foretold in the Hadith to be predestined TO KILL a whole bunch of people -- in battle -- and then to convert the survivors, WORLD-WIDE.

3. Since imams have been preaching that there is NO FUTURE because the "Signs of Qiyamah" are all around, it "makes sense" that some members of their audience strap on dynamite belts. If there is NO FUTURE, why not beat the rush for Judgment Day and make a beeline for Paradise right now by becoming a martyr?

4. It is EXTREMELY DANGEROUS if someone with that mentality gets his hands on a nuclear arsenal.

5. The imams have also been preaching that if/when there is a nuclear exchange, Allah will suspend the laws of physics so that ONLY INFIDELS will be killed by the nuclear blasts and the radiation fallout. They are even saying that Muslim real estate like the Dome of the Rock will be untouched by the blast. The "Mahdi" can nuke Jerusalem in the morning, and move into a home there in the afternoon.
