I have no doubt that given sufficient time and help, Iran can develop a usable nuke.
An accurate delivery system is something entirely different.
Unless the Russians, the French or the Germans do it for them.
What's nagging me is a statement I saw a few days ago ( didn't think to save the link ) that one of Iran's alleged reasons for building these missiles was "deploying satellites."
The technology for dispensing multiple satellites is a mirror of MIRV technology. If I were along the flight path from Iran to London, I'd be getting nervous.
"I have no doubt that given sufficient time and help, Iran can develop a usable nuke. "
People are looking at how Iran can launch from their own country. That will never happen. They will probably deploy something that they can sneak into a city and deploy there, like Tel Aviv. They will never destroy Jerusalem because of the historical and religious value.
In addition, by going this route, how can anyone counter attack, not knowing whether it actually was Iran? There is no way, with world pressure that Israel would counter Iran if they couldn't prove the weapon came from Iran.
That is why state sponsored terrorism works.
Or Al Queda, penetrating our porous borders, hand carry one into the homeland.
