Rather than have Iran's Revolutionary Guards in Iraq fomenting trouble, I wonder why President Bush hasn't started covertly started and insurgency in Iran?

"Probably because it's a joke threat from a back-asswards joke of a country. Harm and pain my ass.."

This is propaganda. I'm beginning to think our "friends" who are selling Iran weapons would just love to see the "threats" escalate. Maybe they are actually coaching Iran. Fear sells more guns and the gun seller can help cause all kinds of tension without even getting a scratch.

Someone really, really, really wants us to attack Iran (that backward joke of a country).

Hmmmmmmm, wonder who that is? Follow the money trail.

So far, we remain out of the envelope for land based missiles. But if they are launched via cargo ship, all bets are off. If they are simply brought into the country on a yacht like drugs, all bets are off. Missiles aren't the only means of delivery of a nuclear strike, as we well know. A white cargo van with a top ladder rack might do nicely. So would a small airplane.

The only sure bet is Iran can do us more domestic damage with these weapons than we have sustained since the Civil War. They need to be stopped. Now.

But if they had one wouldn't they conduct an underground "test" explosion just like North Korea did a few years ago. Kim Jong Il obviously benefited from this.

You're absolutely right, on all counts.

If Iran wants nukes so much, why not give it to them?

Only problem is, Clinton signed us onto the Earth Charter, which is also signed by 179 nations, at the UN Conference on Environment and Development. I'm still trying to figure out what that means.

I saw some idiot the other day on foxnews say that our best option was to talk to Iran. What a crock. I say hit them before they hit us.

IMO destroying Mecca will bring us nothing but grief. Sounds good to say it but not realistic.

I dont see that happening even if the Muslims were to set off a nuke in the US.

I've always felt destroying some of their holy sites (ie mecca) would send a convincing message that allah and the imans are frauds and submission would come quickly.
---
More likely in the event of the destruction of Mecca they will be told by their mullahs that if they kill enough infidel men and rape enough infidel women and children Allah will miraculously return Mecca to its pristine condition.

Really? Why do you think we aren't doing that already?

".....Really? Why do you think we aren't doing that already?....."

I may have missed some evidence, or hint that this is already occurring. Can you point to an article or source that gives some indication of this?

"I have no doubt that given sufficient time and help, Iran can develop a usable nuke. "

People are looking at how Iran can launch from their own country. That will never happen. They will probably deploy something that they can sneak into a city and deploy there, like Tel Aviv. They will never destroy Jerusalem because of the historical and religious value.

In addition, by going this route, how can anyone counter attack, not knowing whether it actually was Iran? There is no way, with world pressure that Israel would counter Iran if they couldn't prove the weapon came from Iran.

That is why state sponsored terrorism works.

I agree. If we had any balls we would be in there right now taking that little peon of a president they have to hell.

But we have to get "permission" from the U.N. first.

I'm really getting tired of this socialist crap.

If they had one off the black market, they wouldn't test it. One would be hard to come by, much less two. When they develop a homemade weapon, THEN they'll test.

Why ruin the surprise?

I wonder what will motivate Pres. Bush to respond?

A time of OUR choosing.

That's the way it's been on the War on Terror from the beginning with everyone. He said it on September 14th, I believe, and nothing has changed since then.

I worry that given the world the way it is right now - and the way our leaders are right now - we will simply have to wait for a chance to respond to an attack - I just don't think a pre-emptive strike is in the cards.

I think we are planning for an immediate and massive response - and only a response.

That's an irrelevant question, and thus pointless.

Reagan never had to deal with the kinds of threats that Bush has..........and Bush has kept us safe for nearly 5 years. HE is in charge, and HE is going to do the right thing.
