It would be interesting to know the law on pellet guns. I suspect they are not legal at a school in any case. Heck, we had rules that covered belt buckles as well.
susie
The article said he went to school wanting to die. Maybe this was a suicide by police. The bullying part of this story is disturbing. This stuff happens more than we care to think. Some kids just can't deal with it. I have no use for bullies.
A teen was shot by a brain dead cop?
Cornfusing headline. :)
It is sad. The boy had problems and committed suicide. I wonder if he had any problems. Sadly, substance abuse causes suicides because their mind is messed up. I feel sorry for everyone involved.
Ditto.
Lawyers will hash this thing for years. First thing I said was "hope it was not a kid with an airsoft". Even if it had been wooden, the nitwit should have dropped it. Suicide by cop. Sucks for every person impacted, especially the officer that had to fire the shot.
I feel sorry for the cop. This kid shouldn't have put the cop in a position to have to shoot him. The kid's dead, but the cop is going to have to deal with this for the rest of his life.
He and the family of this boy are in my prayers.
They usually are brain dead at that age, still a head full of mush and the confusion from the NEA teachers, harmones, media lack of standards and lack of character, the moral compass for many has not settled etc!
I just wonder how many times that child was in a church growing up and witness parents living the Word?
Pray if you have or will have children or grand children, nieces, nephews etc. they don't fall into chaos and dispair!
"Having a gun in their house?"
Sorry; I didnt know this took place at their home.
The ONLY positive outcome of this tragic situation....
It is also sad that he chose to involve so many other people in his death. I am sorry for the cop who had to kill this troubled youngster.
Well you know how anti establishment the media is...
I think if it were possible to boycot all sources that lack a Moral Compass!
I think it is time to champaine against those that wish to distrube the order!
Medea, the elected and holding position of leadership etc!
Their dirty laundry needs to be spot lighted!
It didn't look "real" until someone painted over the bright orange tip on the barrel.
And even an extremely low IQ person should no by the age of 15 that you NEVER point any kind of gun (toy or not) at a police officer.
Since they are harvesting the organs, I guess the SWAT team member used a well places headshot. It's too bad the LAPD could not display the same marksmanship in North Hollywood with their Beretta's. I beleive that weapon is accurate enough to pull that off at 25-30 yards with a lot of practice. A skilled handgunner with a S&W 686 or a Colt Python should be able execute a headshot at 50 yards. Certain scoped revolvers can display rifle like accuracy at 100 yards. I'll bet there's some handgun hunting Freepers out there who have done it.
Every time I hear of a "Beretta", I think of the James Bond novels. The Beretta was 007's weapon of choice.
Oops.
...should KNOW by the age of 15...
"At a news conference following the shooting Friday at suburban Orlando's Milwee Middle School, authorities put the pellet gun side-by-side with a Beretta. It appeared to have black paint covering the red or pink markings on the muzzle that may have indicated to officers that it was a nonlethal weapon."

Think you're mistaken....I'm pretty sure it was a Walther PPK. The Beretta 92 (several suffixes are made) as shown in the pix is a "largeish" double-stacked magazine 9mm, capacity 15 or so rounds. Although all of these companies made all sorts of guns in any caliber imaginable, JB's gun was a much smaller weapon, chambered, I think, in either .380 or .32. Single stacked 6/7 shot compact deal.
That's it, not gonna allow myself to pretend I'm any kind of gun expert in THIS forum!
that's a good-shooting police brain!!
add me to the cold-hearted,but this kid invited it
