ALITO CONFIRMATION HEARINGS
Questioning Begins Today
Each of the eighteen senators on the Judiciary Cmte. will have 30 minutes to question Supreme Court nominee Samual Alito today during round one. Sen. Arlen Specter, as chairman, will begin, then they will alternate by party in order of individual seniority. Round two starts on Wednesday.
They hate anyone who speaks up and doesn't comply.
Biden upsets even his own constituents. My aunt told me that he caught a lot of grief over his performance during the Roberts hearings.
Most likely because he got so much grief in Delaware for being such an ass. Even the local Gannett rag, which normally thinks the sun rises and sets on him, took him to task for his behavior during the Roberts hearings.

Well, those two are an argument for term limits for Senators.
RBG's health isn't good..she may not want to hang around for another 3 years, on the slight chance that my next door neighbor will get to name her successor...so after Alito is confirmed, both she and Stevens might well retire..or health may intervene and force the issue..Stevens looks great for 85..active, spry, alert, but at that age..anything can happen at any time..
And Alito lays waste to that concern. He'd find against the government and against the president, if the Constitution indicated that outcome.

But Roberts is a stronger scholar than Anthony Kennedy. Watch Roberts sway Kennedy in future cases -- I like what I am seeing so far.
So he thinks the people are clamoring a SC that will limit Presidential authority so as to protect the privacy concerns of Al Quaeda operatives while they plot another attack.
These people just don't understand how truly stupid they are.
I don't see that he is doing any better with Alito, and he can't seem to suppress that awful, phony smile.

That Blitzer person is just a wolf in sheep's clothing. He thinks he's , "all that and a bag of chips, too". But the whole CNN group thinks the same way.
I have a few favorites regarding the nothing that Chuckles does for NY. One of my favorites was the EZPASS and being charged if you lost it. I am still trying to figure out the one New Yorker who was actually concerned about this for it to become an issue.
Just saw Schumer schmoozing with Alito, smiling and patting him on the shoulder, etc.
I can't imagine why Biden's constituents would be upset with his behaviour during the Roberts hearing....he was just being his smarmy self.
He has always been that way....and they keep voting for him...so they MUST like that about him.
