ALITO CONFIRMATION HEARINGS
Questioning Begins Today
Each of the eighteen senators on the Judiciary Cmte. will have 30 minutes to question Supreme Court nominee Samual Alito today during round one. Sen. Arlen Specter, as chairman, will begin, then they will alternate by party in order of individual seniority. Round two starts on Wednesday.

Tom Coburn rocked yesterday!!! Sam Brownback was superb...and heck, Lindsay Graham was awesome also...
The Dems supposedly want to make this about abortion and Roe, well, in case they haven't noticed..the GOP is welcoming the challenge....
BTW..IMHO, the senator who has the biggest problem with his vote is Chafee...if he votes against SAlito on the Sente floor..he'll lose his primary..

I think Alito will be far less deferential than Roberts was...he will challenge the Dem senators, not let them get away with the crap they usually pull..hopefully he watched tapes of the Clarence Thomas hearings..to see what the enemy is capable of..

I have to get my run in before the hearings..Can I suugest that you go to NRO..Bench memos and post here, or link to, the comments from Doug Kmiec...he tends to confirm my thoughts that Alito wuill not take any crap..regards..and see y'all in an hour or so..

Thanks for the thread! I think I'll monitor the hearing this way. If I watch those perfumed princes in the House of Lords, er...the Senate, I'll hurl.
