Back In The USSR? (Russian Proliferation)
Investor's Business Daily ^ | October 18, 2005 | The Editors

Arms Proliferation: Venezuelan strongman Hugo Chavez, who recently visited Iran, reportedly is seeking nuclear weapons. Will they come from Russia with love?

Maybe — if Russia continues to run a weapons bazaar where rogue nations are given special-shopper privileges.

Already, it appears Russia has acted as a broker by greasing the way for North Korea to transfer technology that will let Iran build missiles with a 2,200-mile reach. That puts several European capitals, including Athens, Rome and Berlin, within Tehran's range.

Russia also is supporting Iran's "nuclear power" program, having sold it a reactor. Which is to say Russia supports Iran's nuclear-weapons program.

All this is ominous enough. But compounding matters would be Russia's support, either directly or through Tehran, of the nuclear ambitions of Venezuela's Hugo Chavez. In fact, it's an all-too-realistic possibility that a weapons-trade relationship has already been established. According to the White House, Venezuela has begun to take delivery of 100,000 Russian-made AK47s.

Given Chavez's thick-as-thieves relationship with Fidel Castro, we could someday find Cuba again pointing nuclear missiles our way. That's not idle speculation. Castro and the mullahs have long, documented ties on energy cooperation that are just beginning to get congressional scrutiny. We've already lived through one Cuban missile crisis. Those of us old enough to remember don't need another.

Imagine a world in which radical mullahs in Iran, a malevolent tyrant in Venezuela

It wouldnt be an "oppresive" regime without Russian or Chinese made arms...now would it?

There's must be some kind of tyrant checklist out there...you know?

1. get former US POTUS Jimmah Catah to do a photo-op.
2. Slam W, and indicate America as the enemy of the world. (Create the necessary enemy to distract the citizenry)
3. Buy Russian or Chinese made Armaments.
4. Ensure there are no term limiations to the "Presidency", and jail all political dissidents and opponents.
5. Create secret police.
6. Have Google restructure the nations internet.

Frigen Putin cannot be trusted anymore then any other Russian we have ever had to do business with. Their record speaks for itself. They cannot be trusted. They have their own agendas amd will pursue them, in spite of what it does for world stability. Like General George S. Patton Jr., said many years ago, we should have re-armed the Nazi armies and taken out the Russians when we had the chance.

"A strong-willed White House backed by a just-as-resolute Great Britain should insist the Russians alter course. Germany and Italy would be wise to join...
Could Putin say no to the pressure that such an alliance could bring? Not if every member was serious about its role and none played under the table with the Russian president."

Unfortunately, this alliance is unlikely. This is part of the genius of the Russian strategy. The Europeans are grateful to no longer have Russian tank armies looming.

"It's important, though, to avoid making Putin feel as if he's being ganged up on. That could push him in the wrong direction, one in which he's already headed but which can — and must — be changed."

Goofy Liberal twist

"Paris isn't in danger — yet — but with half of France within Iran's prospective missile range, it would be foolish to sit this one out."

Paris won't get nuked. They will just continue to lose every shred of self respect as the Muslims pull them down into ever-more humiliating compliance. It is pointless to murder your own slave.

I have given up arguing with you. You really have no idea how mistaken several of you are on Russia. Things are for the most part not like you see in the news. You would think Special Forces operatives like Sarajevo, DevSix and myself would convince you. Add two more field grade officers who have said you are wrong. You're the Google Queen, and so have at it.

Inside the Ring

A Pentagon report on weapons found in Iraq after the war revealed a staggering amount of armaments, almost all foreign-made. The report, first disclosed in a new book by one of this column's writers, Bill Gertz, reached this stark conclusion: "Foreign munitions were used against coalition forces during the war and continue to be a potential source of explosives for improvised explosive devices still being used to kill U.S. soldiers."

According to the report cited in "Treachery: How America's Friends and Foes are Secretly Arming Our Enemies," 24 nations supplied armaments to Saddam Hussein. The total amount was between 650,000 tons and 1 million tons. By contrast, the entire U.S. military arsenal is between 1.6 million and 1.8 million tons.

The big three arms suppliers were Russia (and the Soviet Union), China and France: Russia supplied 122 different types of arms and a total of nearly 13 million items; China had provided 19 different types of arms and almost 380,000 items; France had supplied 12 different armaments and more than 115,000 items.

The report was produced by the office of deputy undersecretary of defense for international technology security, John Shaw.

It found that Russia had violated U.N. sanctions on Iraq by selling Saddam Hussein Kornet-E antitank guided weapons. The report said that in March 2003, Kornet missiles, first developed in 1994, were fired at two U.S. Army M-1A1 Abrams tanks near Najaf, disabling them.

The report also stated that Syria purchased 500 to 1,000 Kornets from Ukraine "on behalf of Iraq"; the transfers took place in early 2003, the report said. The Ukrainians had bought the missiles from Russian manufacturers. The report concluded, "Possession of the Kornet-E violates U.N. Security Council Resolution 687," which barred arms sales to Iraq.

Gary, you and your family have direct experience with Putin. No wonder you are such a big fan of former KGB murderer!

Sarajevo labeled you correctly as a bottom feeder having gained your expertise as a Google Queen. The above article is typical ratclap filled with assumptions, suppositions, with a tad bit of truth.

My wife never met or had any dealings with Putin directly. She developed a Bible curriculum for the Russian schools at Putin's direction.

Russia Discusses Lenin's Burial, Again

Russia denies role in alleged Iran missile deal

MOSCOW (AFX) - Russian Defence Minister Sergei Ivanov has denied a British newspaper report alleging that former members of the Russian military have been secretly helping Iran make missiles capable of hitting European capitals. 'It's delirium, nonsense,' said Ivanov, questioned by journalists in New Delhi, where he was attending joint Russian-Indian military exercises, on a report in Britain's Sunday Telegraph. =====================================================

Russia Moved Iraqi WMD - Moscow Moved Weapons to Syria and Lebanon

According to a former top Bush administration official, Russian special forces teams moved weapons of mass destruction out of Iraq to Syria.

"I am absolutely sure that Russian Spetsnatz units moved WMD out of Iraq before the war," stated John Shaw, the former deputy undersecretary for international technology security.

According to Shaw, Russian units hid Saddam's arsenal inside Syria and in Lebanon's Bekka valley.

"While in Iraq I uncovered detailed information that Spetsnatz units shredded records and moved all WMD and specified advanced munitions out of Iraq to Syria and Lebanon," stated Shaw during an exclusive interview.

"I received information from several sources naming the exact Russian units, what they took and where they took both WMD materials and conventional explosives. Moscow made a 2001 agreement with Saddam Hussein to clear up all Russian involvement in WMD systems in Iraq," stated Shaw.

I dont care what that individual says, like I said earlier..the opinons of anonymous individuals dont carry much weight.

What does carry weight is these reports I listed, from the Washington times and other news outlets. But keep shilling for your favorite KGB murderer.....just don't get mad when people point out that a leopard never changes his spots.

"Sarajevo labeled you correctly as a bottom feeder having gained your expertise as a Google Queen."

That same line was used on someone else in here already. It looks like the Putin Platoon is crawling out of the Red woodwork.

"The above article is typical ratclap filled with assumptions, suppositions, with a tad bit of truth."

Why don't you tell everyone the 'facts' according to Col Putin. What do you think everyone is a dumb schmuck and is actually going to buy into the pro-Moscow line of the hour?

You ever get the feeling you are slightly outnumbered? Putin is arming the worst pack of tyrants in 2005, The Mullahs, Hugo, Assad, and what do we have here? Could it be true....Hamas death cultists in the Gaza Strip? Wow - Tell everyone it's not so.

You on the payroll now?

Stick to your Russian List.

Thanks for the postings on how our dear Russian friends, ahem, may not be so dear. Getting past my bedtime, so I will bookmark. If you don't get a reply from me it will be due to overload. But in a pinch, for those in self denial or otherwise that don't think the Russian where deeply involved in Iraq, and for whatever reasons will surface in the future as positive proof, regarding they may have helped move stuff to outside Iraq in those final days, I think they are being ill informed. The French and Russians where fully involved in supplying and advising Saddam on what do at all levels. To not see this most indicate some want to willingly bury their heads in the sand for whatever reason.
