he's the only established Republican face with a chance against Hillary--with the possible exception of John McCain,

Hillary aint that popular. You guys seem to think that she has some magical powers over the electorate and that she would sell in middle America. As a result, you believe that only a Rockefeller Republican can beat her.

I fear Bill Richarson or Evan Bayh more than I do Hillary.

Rudy isn't conservative on ANY issue other than law and order. Last I checked, the municipal unions are as powerful as ever in NYC.

I stand by my comments. The only people who worship at the alter of Ruina Giussolini the Rockefeller Liberal Republican are self-obsessed New Yorkers and douchebags who believe all the media hype about their favorite Republican.

Rudy's not very good on taxes either. He's a blue state Rockefeller Republican, who doesn't deserve the presidency.

Never in my life would I ever find a conservative web site where so many folks would be creaming themselves over a Rockefeller Republican like Ruina Giussolini. F--k him and all who support him.

Nope, not intimidated by collective Clinton voodoo, but do know that Hillary has near-universal voter recognition, which translates to millions (and millions) of dollars. That recognition, combined with her increasingly hawkish positioning on national defense and her 'centering' on controversial policies like abortion, make her a formidable opponent. If Republicans throw a dark horse against her out of some misguided sense of idealogical purity, we lose. And regardless of what Democrats in Ohio might say, losing is a bad thing.

Maybe I'm a WEE bit too suspicious but I am noticing that the naysayers on Cheney on this thread are newbies.

"F--k him and all who support him."

Couldn't have put it better myself.

There is, so far, no true conservative in the running. Allen is trying to stake out a strange middle position on life, Frist is caving on stem cells....NO one that I know of is willing to say repeal McCain Feingold and prescription drugs.

I think that the best we are going to do this time, possibly, is to beat Hillary with a Republican who is probably slightly to the left of GWB. I don't see us inching to the right, let alone lunging to the right.

Which is sad.

“Cheney is an excellent choice borne of wisdom, class, and experience. Widely read and educated on foreign and domestic issues. Not a showboater but doggedly deliberate--he is perfect for the position.

“But he may be unelectable to the post. He is simply overqualified and for that the American electorate would not forgive.”

I agree with you. Unfortunately, more than anything, I don’t think he wants to run.

As far as Bob Woodward is concerned, he spiels methane gas through his mouth. Sorry, I’m not feeling too charitable toward Woodward, especially not today.

We can do better than Rudy the Rino. I'd even go for Romney over him, and that's not saying much.

It's fun to send them off the deep end, though.

I don't see someone as far left as Rudy making it through the GOP primaries.

I am as conservative as they come, and as long as Rudy had a conservative VP choice (Condi or other), I will vote for him.

Sorry, I don't HATE Rudy, but his stance on the 2nd Amendment would cause me not to vote for him in a primary. The 2nd is too important to mess with.

Your statement assumes he wins the GOP primary. My statement that you commented in response too assumes he wouldn't be conservative enough to get that far.

Not to mention his strong support for partial birth abortion.

VP Cheney has said over & over he will not run. Not only that he will be too old & his health is not great.

Is Woodward just being hopeful? He wants Cheney to run against Hillary? What?

Could it be that Woodward is swimming in the sea of tranquility.

I don't see how any one with as many health problems as Dick Cheney could possibly think about running for President.

Woodward is another one of those liberals that is hoping for a beatable candidate from the Republicans.

Vice President Cheney would make a fine president, but I doubt that he will run.

I did not realize that Rudy supported partial birth abortion also. My bad, thanks for pointing that out. Off to do my homework!
