Was World War II worth it? (Buchanan barf alert)
WorldNetDaily ^ | May 11, 2005 | Patrick J. Buchanan

Posted on 05/11/2005 9:08:36 AM PDT by EveningStar

If the objective of the West was the destruction of Nazi Germany, it was a "smashing" success. But why destroy Hitler? If to liberate Germans, it was not worth it. After all, the Germans voted Hitler in.

If it was to keep Hitler out of Western Europe, why declare war on him and draw him into Western Europe? If it was to keep Hitler out of Central and Eastern Europe, then, inevitably, Stalin would inherit Central and Eastern Europe.

Was that worth fighting a world war – with 50 million dead?

It was Buchanan who opened the can of worms.

Of course it was. And Pat isn't a Republican. It's as representative of Republicans as Howard Dean.

What do you think, would things have been different if we'd let the Dukesters in?

Now you're two for two, Jackson.

Are you drunk, or just up too late.

You wanna try to splain this one to him too, AB?

Clearly I'm drunk. It's been fun talking to you, but clearly I can't approach eithr your intellect nor your command of the facts.

And you're right, a "young" prison camp guard, no harm, no foul. Most of them were in their 60s after all.

Looks like all these History Channel 60 year anniversary shows celebrating the defeat of the Nazi's has Buchanan longing, once again, for the days of the Third Reich.

I mean, really. Was WWII worth it. Whenever I see footage of those poor souls staggering out of the concentration camps I want to join the army and fight the war all over again.

And if this latest column by this anti-Jewish biggot doesn't stop all these Buchanan defenders in their tracks, I don't know what will.

I mean, a person can slip up with a hateful comment once. Maybe twice. But this is about the 19th time Buchanan has lost control of his passion against the Jews.

"The war had been going on for 2 years and 3 months before the U.S. got involved in it. Hitler did not invade France until more than 8 months after Britain and France declared war on Germany. Better brush up your history. The U.S. is not the center of the world."

Little known fact...France crossed the Rhine into Germany first and then withdrew. Go fiqure.

All your ranting notwithstanding, the Israeli Supreme Court sent him home.

He said that we had basically fought for six years and really accomplished nothing.

Nothing??

Like I said in another post, every time I see footage of those poor Jewish souls (and others) staggering out of those concentration camps starved and tortured, I get the urge to join the Army and go invade Germany all over again.

What outrage to claim that we accomplished nothing by taking out Hitler and his henchmen.

Just yesterday the History Channel had a documentary on the guy who essentially designed the Final Solution, (forget his name ... Himmler??) and my blood began to boil.

To this day, I cannot fathom how almost an entire nation could simply stand by and support this barbaric regime.

I realise that this is going a bit far afield, and certainly off the direct topic of the thread ...

In the USA, every year 1,500,000 people are slaughtered in the bloodiest manner possible ... legally. This legalised slaughter has been going on since 1973. We've long since passed Hitler's body count, passed Stalin's body count, and are closing in on Mao's body count. In the popular press, anyone who opposes the mass slaughter is condemned as an "anti-choice" extremist. Indeed, one of our two largest political parties insists, as a matter of policy, that this slaughter continue unabated, unopposed, and even wants to force people who oppose it to financially support it.

But it's all OK, becuase the things that are being slaughtered aren't human ... they're "blobs of tissue"; at best they're subhuman "potential life", and if they weren't destroyed they'd only go on to have lives unworthy of living. So say the killers, anyway.

Once folks arrogate to themselves the power to write other folks out of the human race, whether because of ancestry, age, physical appearance, or disability, any outrage is possible.

Don't look at the Nazis or the Communists and think "it can't happen here".

It's already well underway.

Kindly direct me to the word "Jew" or any variation thereof in the article.

Despite fevered attempts by many to the contrary, it was WW II not the Jewish World War. As tragic as the Jewish experience was, it was one of many.

Will it ever be possible to discuss this portion of world history without the Jewish experience and view overwhelming all others?

I'd expect (as a matter of intellectual honesty) that you'd object to outright alliance with anti-National Socialist dictators.

Is it your contention that we should not have allied ourselves with the Soviet Union in order to defeat Hitler?

Actually, this is the problem. Communism being more dangerous, and less efficient, than nazism made it preferable when it came to selecting who would occupy, organize and operate Russia and Siberia.

This is an area of great natural resources including vast reserves of oil.

If it were in the hands of the Germans, we would probably not have been able to contain them from their ambition of world conquest and domination.

We handily defeated the commies in just over 40 years!

I suspect that letting them rip each others throats out in the east, while we attacked from the west, might have had a better outcome. Hitler had no better ability to defeat Russia than Napoleon did. The Soviets were certainly better off because we gave them enormous aid ... we were not. The enemy of my enemy is not my friend ...

Now, would you like to answer my question(s)?

Yes, the slaughter of the innocents is well underway and we live in a fascist state.
