This ultra left wing liberal traitor is one of the many reasons why the majority of Americans are voting and more Republican and more and more conservative.

I'm glad Whitewater is letting him speak. The more people that hear his idiotic and hate-filled message, the more people will realize what kind of schmuck he really is.
He's got enough rope - let him hang himself.

Does anyone know what this jerk's academic credentials are? I heard that he has a Master's degree in History.
To be a tenured associate professor with those credentials is extremely unusual. In academic settings, the difference between an M.A. and a PH.D. are akin to the difference between an 8th grade education and a college diploma.
Methinks there is something rotten in the state of Colorado.

I think this is mandatory reading before you say or do anything.

This guy will self-destruct within the next 48 hours. I will love to see if the ACLU will even come to his rescue. He's simply a fraud and charlatan. Let him talk all he wants.

Churchill has hit the Lefy Lotto. He'll be the new golden boy for awhile. Right up there in celebrity stature with Michael Jackson.
I can't wait for Kennedy, Boxer and Pelosi to publicly defend his right to free speech.

He has a BA and MA from Sagoman State in Illinois. It was a hippy school in the 60's and seventies. No Grades. No Teachers etc. You move at your own pace.

One of the things they are also questioning is the legitimacy of his MA degree. It was granted from Sagamon State Universty. Which was basically a Montessori School for post secondary education. No grades were given and the University advertised in The Rolling Stone of the early 70's. If you imagine the pot smoking scene with the teaching assistant from Animal House you have envisioned Churchill's University experience. How in anyone's view that makes him qualified to be a department head at a major university is beyond me.

Conservative and other thinking pundits seem to be on the same page regarding Churchill: let him talk. What better way to illuminate the differences between red state values and blue state values?

Thanks. I am from Illinois and remember Sangamon State. It was a complete joke as a school.
It was taken over by the state, and is now called the University of Illinois at Springfield (our state capitol). I suspect that the standards have been since raised. If not, that's where our state legislators can send their intellectually-challenged off-spring to college.

I also went out the the UW-Whitewater website at
http://www.uww.edu/npa/news_releases/story.php?id=691.
There is mention (stipulation #4) of a letter which Jack Miller (Chancellor) sent to Churchill, and Churchill's response, with links to the content.
Bottomline, Churchill has a contract and expects payment whether or not the show goes on. Is there anyone willing to request information regarding the amount Churchill is to be paid? I would think they would have to provide that info if requested. Freedom of Info Act and all. If there is someone willing to do this, could they post it here and ping me?
Oh, he's supposed to be speaking on Native American issues and he's not even an Indian.

The only place it stinks is Boulder the Breksley of the state so far left it could be on the west coast.

The following is an excerpt from an article dated 2-3-05, "Freedom of Speech" by Joseph Farah,
http://www.wnd.com/news (World Net Daily):
Freedom of speech does not mean you can say or write anything without consequences. It means the government can't prevent you from speaking or writing about what's on your mind. It does not suggest there can be no penalties for doing so particularly in an irresponsible manner.
We have libel laws on the books, for example.
You cannot cry "fire" in a crowded theater if there is no fire, for example.
And you can certainly be fired by your employer for bringing discredit upon it through your words and actions.
Ultimately, there is another potential consequence that needs to be considered in this unusual case.
We need to ask ourselves as a nation whether or not we still believe in the constitutional crime of treason.
When is a person guilty of sedition? Does he actually have to take up arms with the enemy? Does he actually have to strap bombs onto his body? Does he actually have to provide material support for the enemy? Or does he merely have to give aid and comfort to the enemy?
Did Ward Churchill give aid and comfort to the sworn enemies of the United States by proclaiming them heroes in their bloodthirsty attack on this country Sept. 11, 2001?
I think he clearly did. I think he clearly intended to do so. You can argue about the impact he may have had because of his level of obscurity. But had Churchill been able to make his proclamation heard throughout the entire world he clearly would have done so. He was striving to be heard. His intent was to undermine and hurt America. He proclaimed his sympathies and allegiance with the enemy.
I don't think it gets much more clear-cut than that.
If this be not treason, then we have lost the meaning of the word, we have scrapped the crime from our law books, we have stripped the term from our lexicon.
Yes, Churchill should be fired. Freedom of speech does not guarantee anyone a tenured, lifetime position at a taxpayer-supported university.
And, equally so, Churchill should be thoroughly investigated for aiding and abetting the enemy in wartime a capital offense.
