Methadone is just another drug to get addicted to. I saw what it did to my step son. He got a fix of methadone and then went his merry way doing all the other drugs just like before. Methadone was just one more piled on. And he still had all the violent behaviors.

Heh heh heh...when I worked in the Bridgeport area in CT, there was a number of clinics of the methadon variety...at the time, I was in a lot of pain, with NO doctors willing to prescribe to me....let's say, I did get some pain relief on the street...

No, I wouldn't want a methadon clinic in my neighborhood. On the other hand, if those of us could get legal pain relief (I'm no youngster, and I have chronic pain)......well, I will find pain relief where it is.

It's a fact of life. Thank you, all you trial lawyers. Thank you that I need to go to ER to get relief, because Drs. are afraid of some a-hole suing them because they became "addicted".

PFFFFTT!!!

Yes, right smack dab in the middle of a residential area. I'm going to go find the other article that got the ball rolling. Be right back.

Oh I forgot, find out who owns the property as well as who manages the facility and then go picket in front of their nice expensive homes. They hate that, especially on weekends and holidays when they have their family and friends over.

Let the whole neighborhood know about the dirty business they are in. You are totally protected under the 1st amendment as long as you keep it calm and don't block any streets or sidewalks. We did this with the Elk Grove pervert home. We haven't gotten rid of them yet, but it sure turned these guys comfy neighborhoods upside down.

when i lived in dc and went to gw i lived right across the street from a methadone clinic. every now and then id see a group of unsavory characters hanging around out there. there were never any problems. i wouldnt want them around my house in the suburbs though. they blend in better in cities.

So is this clinic supoose to be going into a segment of the old Valley Children's hospital?

I would have responded to Castillo claim of a lawsuit by informing him that if any harm comes to one of my loved one or my property due to the Meth clinic that my lawsuit is going to be triple the amount of any other lawsuit.

Residents Protest Hempstead Methadone Clinic

By Newsradio 88 Staff

They'll be taking it to the streets in the Village of Hempstead on Long Island today, protesting a proposed methadone clinic downtown.

WCBS reporter Jody Fisher tells us the idea isn't getting much of a warm reception.

The state is currently reviewing the application, and the idea is to build a clinic that would house hardcore drug addicts looking to get clean at the old bus terminal site in Hempstead. Village mayor James Garner, County Executive Thomas Gulotta, and lots of angry residents are expected to turn out.

Some residents say the clinic would invite more drugs and crime into an area that's got more than its share already.

Brad Castillo, the councilman, has a foster home in the area. Money money money. It's always about money.

Back in the 80s a state judge ruled that a housing project had to be built in a lower middle class, family oriented nabe in Yonkers (NY) after the residents got the city council and the mayor to oppose it. The judge further harangued the residents of the nabe as "racists" for not wanting the project built.

Long story short, for many weeks afterwards, people took turns day and night protesting outside his house in Scarsdale.

They'll all be riding the bus together. One big happy family.

I wouldn't wish a housing project on anyone, whether they're racist or not. Knowing the people I do from Yonkers, that characterization isn't that far fetched. OTOH, this judge probably doesn't live there either and maybe lives in Connecticut, where anyone who doesn't look like a sheet of paper is confused with the nanny.

"Put it in the City Hall."

That's an informed idea, Jim! They won't make bad decisions- or any at all!

Those must be old heroin addicts. From news reports, I thought they all went to crack and later to crank. I don't see those people around here in Chatsworth. Are they obvious in Fresno?

BTW, judical activism knows no boundaries anymore. I'm convinced. I have my own personal views about judges but I'll shut my mouth for now.

Can you believe that in this day and age there are still people who get addicted to HEROIN? It's unbelievable. Apparently, Fresno is crawlin' with 'em. Why on earth do they want to dump this filth in a residential neighborhood for God's sake?

The owner of this facility is a pretty pompous clean-cut white businessman. He sure had a hard sell, though, in that crowd.
