Here's a link to our store as it was covered in Fresno, plus a list of the group homes in Fresno:

Otherwise what will stop non-clinic enrolled addicts who abuse methadone from occasional armed drop-in visits?
We need to find a legal loophole before it's too late. Castillo said the City will get sued for millions under ADA if we deny them the right to open this clinic. Sheeeeesh.
I wish you luck. No residential area should have a drug clinic foisted upon them.
So sorry about your stepson. How old was he?
Very interesting. I wouldn't want a group home in my neighborhood either but GUESS WHAT? Yep, it's down the street not too far. BUT AT LEAST IT'S NOT A METHADONE CLINIC!!
Certain group homes are tolerable. It's the ones housing the sex offenders that I worry about.
You guys can do this too:

Saundra, tell Brad Castillo you would be happy to work with the residents to raise enough money to expand City Hall so they can house and treat these poor victims.
can you recall Brad Castillo? That ususally has a chilling effect.
Next up, a brand new bus stop installed in front of the clinic. Kaching kaching $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$.
Aren't there any abandoned warehouses in a business only zone, in a downtown type area near a police station which they could utilize?
Thanks for asking about my step son. His life was a living hell. He started using drugs before he was out of high school. He was smart, good looking, strong and healthy until the drugs got him.
In the end, he was a street junky with no hope. He had just gotten out of prison for the umpteenth time and he OD'd - about six months ago. He was fairly young - around 35. I'm believing that Heavenly Father shows mercy to drug addicts. Their lives are so awful here on earth.
His Dad and I tried all kinds of ways to "help" but you finally have to realize that by trying to "help" by giving them money and support, you end up participating in the killing of their souls. I HATE DRUGS!!!
And they're often driven to the clinic by some of the most undesirable people. Trust me, treatment for 500 clients will mean about 1500 people a day will visit that center.
HUNDREDS!! But then that would make too much sense. Can't have that.
Veto, do you live in WA state?
The socialist types would like to make all neighborhoods equally "in-exclusive." They would likely support a dope clinic and fight zoning for churches.
I'm so sorry. You (and your husband and he) must have gone through hell. We want to help our kids so badly, but sometimes there's nothing we can do. Sometimes we can't save them from themselves. Keep fighting the good fight!
Something has to be done and without lining the pockets of Castillo or promoting his political career.
First you need to find out who owns the proposed property. Then you have to find out where the current clinic is located. You also need to know who (what government agency) runs the program. A lot of times they move from an existing clinic to a new one just so the staff has a nicer place to work. Finally, I'm not sure the ADA even applies to state and local governments, but if it does, you need to have Brad provide you with an attorney opinion that shows the ADA requires it to be in this specific location.
Here are the words from a flyer that was distributed last night. I don't know who wrote it. On green paper and not professionally done (love it!). Here goes:
Why not to have a Methadone Clinic in the middle of a residential area:
1) Three elementary schools within .8 mile.
2) One Middle School just 1.3 miles away.
3) Two high schools within .9 mile from clinic.
4) Two charter schools are within .3 mile and .4 mile.
5) Childrens Mental Health Services across the street.
The children that are walking or taking the bus to these destinations will be on the bus with someone that will no longer be addicted to heroin, but to a government issued drug, methadone. This drug may not cause euphoria or harm motor skills like heroin, but we need to remember that this is still an addiction. Credit should be given to anyone that is trying to fight those addictions, but not at the expense of taking chance with any of our children. Think about it . . . they say they want to serve 500 clients. My research shows that the effects of methadone last 25 to 52 hours. That means 500 clients will be walking, taking the bus or parking their vehicles every day or two. Has to make you think how crowded will the buses be, where will they park and who will be walking with your children.
There are a lot of places this clinic could been put in Fresno without disrupting a neighborhood. I do not believe there was any research or thought put into this plan. Did our Councilman know? Who lets the city zone for this kind of facility in a residential area? I think this should be a wake-up call for us all, don't you think?
