The two Johns have a plan for everything! They will be benevolent co-dictators and let "the government" provide everything we "need".

How in the world do you see it that way? Edwards has no experience.

What I saw looked like a teenage boy trying to tell his wise and experienced father what the world was really like.

That teenager knows nothing about the world.

Watching tonight all I could think was YES.

My mom and dad are hard core Republicans. After the Bush/Kerry debate on Friday my usually optimistic dad was a tad un-nerved and my worrier mom was positively freaked. I've spent most of the week calming her down with polls and other positive stuff that I've picked up from this site.

When I called my folks during the debate and talked to my mom I could hear my dad cheering. My dad thought it was overwhelming win...my mom thought it was a solid one. I guess I'm somewhere in the middle.

Any pundit who thinks this is anything but VERY good for Bush isn't thinking straight and wasn't paying attention. The fact is that we needed something to staunch the supposed bloodflow and tonight did that beautifully. Cheney eviscerated Edwards and Edwards in his bizarre need to mention Kerry with every breath he took eviscerated him...AWESOME.

lol! that term has never been more fitting than it is of the Breck Girl.

Hannity just referred to Senator Gone, lol :o)

We have to design a new graphic and a new handle for the Kerry campaign: Kerry/Gone!

I suggest you read the transcript tomorrow and you will see what I mean. You will see that the questions were directed at Cheney/Bush. Kerry/Edwards could have asked the same questions. You will also notice how she editorialzed to support Edwards. The question about Israeli-Palestinian conflict and the lack of US involvement was a prime example along with the AIDs question. She was no better than Leher.

"Edwards made 3 references to "Saddam didn't attack us'. That was as smarmy as it gets."

I was hoping that VP Cheney would have responded with something like:

"Iraq did INDEED attack us. The 1993 WTC bombing - the first WTC terroritst attack which by the way occured during the Clinton administration - was carried out by a confirmed Iraqi intelligence officer. Keeping this in mind, and keeping in mind that even the 9/11 Commission has confirmed the contacts between Saddam Hussein's Iraq and elements of Bin Laden's terrorist network, THIS administration took the action that it felt was necessary to protect the American people and to establish a strategic beach head in the region. And, just to remind you Senator, John Kerry also voted for this action. But, that was before he was intimidated by Howard Dean and decided to change his mind... Again...."

As journalist Byron York has reported, it's not really true that the company got its work without competitive bidding. In the 1990s, the military looked for ways to get outside help handling the logistics associated with foreign interventions. It came up with the U.S. Army Logistics Civil Augmentation Program, or LOGCAP. The program is a multiyear contract for a corporation to be on call to provide whatever services might be needed quickly.

Halliburton won a competitive bidding process for LOGCAP in 2001. So it was natural to turn to it (actually, to its wholly owned subsidiary Kellogg Brown & Root) for prewar planning about handling oil fires in Iraq. "To invite other contractors to compete to perform a highly classified requirement that Kellogg Brown & Root was already under a competitively awarded contract to perform would have been a wasteful duplication of effort," the Army Corps of Engineers commander has written.

Then, in February 2003, the Corps of Engineers gave Halliburton a temporary no-bid contract to implement its classified oil-fire plan. The thinking was it would be absurd to undertake the drawn-out contracting process on the verge of war. If the administration had done that and there had been catastrophic fires, it would now be considered evidence of insufficient postwar planning. And Halliburton was an obvious choice, since it put out 350 oil-well fires in Kuwait after the first Gulf War.

The Clinton administration made the same calculation in its own dealings with Halliburton. The company had won the LOGCAP in 1992, then lost it in 1997. The Clinton administration nonetheless awarded a no-bid contract to Halliburton to continue its work in the Balkans supporting the U.S. peacekeeping mission there because it made little sense to change midstream. According to Byron York, Al Gore's reinventing-government panel even singled out Halliburton for praise for its military logistics work.

What planet are these polls on? The Dems raped the polls. Don't fret they are so lopsided that it is going to destroy flash polling on the internet. The dems plan may have just backfired. In a few days the real polls will show another Bush bounce. "Senator Gone"...........I'm still laughing!

Did anyone else wonder during Edwards long-winded AIDS answer if he'd ever taken health ed in school and was actually aware of how AIDS is spread? Because he was ranting on about preventative medicine...

My take on the debates is that it was basically a draw, with perhaps minor lean to the D's

The village is searching for you, the other idiot isn't working out well.
