Ah, France! What a beautiful land, tragically polluted with Frenchmen.

You just can't arrest someone because they are on a shit list and boarded a plane. You need probable cause. Bashing the French might feel good, but it is masturbatory. However, in place assets should track these folks every minute of their lives. Their future should be a fish bowl.

Sacre BLEW it!
I think General Patton said something like "I'd rather have a division of Germans
in front of me than have a division of Frenchmen behind me".

but France turned them loose after questioning themNo, No, No, the french did not turn the loose, they surrrendered to them. Remember it is the french we are talkign about, surrender monkeys at best, better thought of as cowards.

On top of that they had the top French policeman on the case: Inspector Clouseau. So those who have the idea that they weren't doing their very best take notice.

I know. We wouldn't want to arrest any terrorist before they blow up half of L.A. But I suspect that those freaks in Cuba would argue with you about arresting people without proof.

I am as angered as everyone else here. But I will pose this theory. They were suspected of possibly being involved in a plot and the U.S. tipped off France. French officials interrogated them and let them go, however, they will be followed now and hopefully traced back to their homes and bases of operations. IOW, letting them go now, to go after even bigger fish. Or perhaps, their names will be given to an unidentified agency which will then direct unidentified personnel to make one final contact with them. No lawyers, no trial, just a funeral.

Either that or the frenchies are as stupid as a turnip. 6 people from the watch list on one flight and they let them go?

Hopefully US forces are closing in on them as we type.

I understand, believe me I do. Any number of things might have happened. They might not have been involved in anything. Or, they might be DEEPLY involved in some plot. If they are arrested, and the case is weak, they still get to walk. If they are involved, they can be let go, put under surveillance, and a wide net can catch others involved, like recruiters, financiers, money launderers, and other supporters or higher level members. The War on Terrorism (WOT) will be continually taking strange twists and turns.
