His impulsive nature..combined with anger..will be a perfect combo for someone to open a door that was shut.
This is like the guy who is innocent of a crime but wants to take the stand to proclaim his innocence. He can blow up the case
President Trump absolutely should not testify under oath. The problem is then he can be impeached for perjury. I know that’s not an impeachable offense when a Clinton does it, but the rules are different for Trump. He doesn’t even have to lie; the establishment, including RINOs, will claim he lied if they think he can get away with it.
Am I the only one on this thread with the feeling that he’s acting sly like a fox? I think he knows exactly what he’s doing. I even think he has tapes to prove it. I think Comey was lying under oath and he knows that.
When he said he was wiretapped, he wasn’t shooting from the hip. I do believe him over Comey.
Did you hear him say to the press today “you’re going to be so disappointed” (when they see the tape that he has)?
He’s baiting and trolling like an artist.
Then again, maybe I’m giving him too much credit, but the only time I really think he shot from the hip was when he talked about crowd size. Otherwise he was always proven right.
Trump should not testify and he shouldn’t give them a damned thing because this is just one continuous effort to trip him up and create some sort of perjury or obstruction charge.
They have no evidence in the basic accusations of collaboration with the Russians, so they are on a fishing expedition and an effort to force him into some mistake.
Which is why his attorney should never let him do it.
I don’t want him to. He did nothing wrong with regard to Russia, but one wrong word under oath, and they will try to impeach him. Wouldn’t it be awful if the Russia thing is false but they use it to get to him by him saying the wrong thing under oath? (I’m not saying he’s going to lie - I’m saying he could make a mistake they will use against him.) The idea of that makes me nervous.
I actually hope he has tapes (although I think he may just be screwing with Comey/the press) to prove Comey wrong.
I agree. When his attorney was delayed by nearly an hour with his rebuttal to Comey, the light went off. He was reviewing the tape, IMO.
He should offer to answer written questions. Beyond that, they can pound sand.
Honest, intelligent opinions from decent folks is what makes this a great site.
To me Trump only said he would repeat what he said under oath. He didn’t say he was going sit for some kind of deposition.
I’m glad to see I’m not alone in this. They will look for one mistake and hang him on it. He’s innocent with Russia. All he needs to say is that, after further discussion with counsel, he has decided not to.
He’s not going to testify but saying this shoes people that he is telling the truth. They can’t make him testify. Good ole seperation of powers
I agree. I can’t imagine saying ‘maybe there’s a tape’ as a bluff. If I personally said that in that particular situation you could bet your life there was a tape. Neither can I imagine Trumo, witnessing the baying moonbats of the press in the post election period NOT concluding to tape EVERYTHING.
He is hot enough to weld with over the lies Comey told about him.
I played it three times just to let it sink in. He has thought about it before he addressed it and he meant every word of it. I would not want to be Comey or anyone asociated with this against Trump. MOREOVER, the rats and the pubbies have known since at least January that TRUMP HAS NOT BEEN AND IS NOT UNDER INVESTIGATION BY THE BFI FOR ANYTHING.
The rats repeadedly said he was and knew he was not.
The stinking pubbies who knew these facts didn’t lift a finger to help Trump.
Trump has been vindicated and everyone now knows Comey was fired because he’s a vindictive snake in the grass. Trump should not comment on it all anymore. Period. Let the wheels turn without him commenting.
He should just deliver a sworn statement that no, he did not say “this or that,” to Comey, and that’s it.
No open ended questioning until they get lucky an ask him “have you stopped beating your wife” and he blurts out on impulse instead of realizing there’s no right answer. One question only... framed by his lawyer, about Comey’s claim.
On the other hand it would be “certain death” for any Republican to vote for impeachment under any circumstances in this case.
He can troll all he wants..but at the end of the day...his lawyer should nix it with whatever excuse he wants to come up with.
You can be the smartest man In the world with the highest I Q in the world...and you still shouldn’t do it
