While all eyes are on Donald Trump’s latest reality show, also known as the Trump for President Campaign, some in the media are wondering of the ultimate winner of the current media circus will be Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Texas. Politico noted on Sunday that while Trump dominated the news since the Republican presidential debate, Cruz soared in the Fox News poll to third place, just behind Trump and Dr. Ben Carson. Cruz has been on a bus tour through the southern states, drawing large crowds at every stop.
The Daily Caller suggested that even though Trump supporters would also tend to like Cruz, Cruz is still polling strongly. If and when Trump leaves the race, every possibility exists that his followers would transfer their allegiance to Cruz. Cruz, unlike many of the other Republican candidates, has steadfastly refused to criticize Trump, the theory being that once Trump does realize that the show is over and Cruz presumably rises to first place, Trump will not try to seek revenge.
The scenario even works, sort of, if Trump holds on until the convention. If he keeps 20 or 25 percent of the delegates, he will have enough to deny everyone else the nomination and then be in the position to be king maker. Trump will not likely put his support behind Bush or any of the other establishment candidates. The strongest insurgent candidate will likely be Cruz....

Cruz might be Trump's Veep and then go on for another 8 years. Cruz will clearly play an important role in a Trump administration. But Trump is dominating this campaign and there is no one in the field who can catch up with him.

That's why these other speculations are not appropriate. They take the eye off the prize, which is reducing Jeb (and fellow travelers) to pathetic nothingness.

Cruz and Trump are obviously working together in some fashion.
Trump may make Cruz VP or AG but I would not count on President. Trump is in it to win it.
That is Hilarious. If Trump goes to convention it’s over and Trump wins on second ballot (after delegates are legally released). Did you know that is is not illegal to be paid for your vote as a delegate to the Republican convention? That is a knee slapper.
They make Cruz sound so calculating. Heck, he’s probably enjoying Trump’s candidacy as much as anyone.
It’s a fact Trump has done nothing but good for Cruz so far!

Trump isn't just inside the GOPe/Rat/Media OODA loop...he's taken control of it.
He's setting the pace.
The problem with Trump for them is that he is taking way too long to fall and leaving them less time to destroy other conservatives they need before the primaries.
Apparently it`s not what The Examiner wants, because if they wanted it to be true you would not blow it by talking about it.
For sure it`s crossed all of our minds, but if it becomes such a big thing, Trump and Cruz will be asked about it...in the long run that would not help Cruz
Kind of like the Dems saying we are praying for Trump to be the guy we face, saying he would be easy to beat. Well if they really thought that, they would zip their lips and keep it to themselves
