Democrats' climate change blame game for Hawaii fire confronted by reality after Maui identifies cause (only 7.40 years left)

Hawaiian officials attributed the cause of catastrophic wildfires to alleged failures from the state's main power utility company and downed power lines this week after Democrats blamed the disaster on global warming.

In a lawsuit filed Thursday, the government of Maui County, Hawaii, alleged Hawaiian Electric Company (HECO) and its subsidiaries failed to properly power down live electrical equipment amid a red flag windstorm earlier this month. Due to this failure, downed power lines operated by the utility company sparked a series of deadly fires on the island, the lawsuit claimed.

"The lawsuit alleges that the Defendants acted negligently by failing to power down their electrical equipment despite a National Weather Service Red Flag Warning on August 7th," Maui County said in a release announcing its lawsuit.

"The lawsuit further alleges HECO’s energized and downed power lines ignited dry fuel such as grass and brush, causing the fires," the announcement added. "The lawsuit also alleges failure to maintain the system and power grid, which caused the systemic failures starting three different fires on August 8th."

However, Democratic lawmakers, a top White House official and Hawaii Gov. Josh Green have all blamed the event, which has claimed the lives of at least 115 people, on human-caused global warming.

"This is devastating. This is a climate emergency," Sen. Ed Markey, D-Mass., an original sponsor of the Green New Deal, wrote in a post on X on Aug. 10. "I stand in solidarity with my friends and colleagues from Hawai’i - we must act fast, provide aid, and invest in a resilient and safe future."

"Heartbreaking fires in Hawaii! Scientists are clear that climate chaos wreaking havoc on ecosystems everywhere is the new norm," Sen. Jeff Merkley, D-Ore., said in a separate post. "We need to take action immediately or else..."

.....Sen. Ed Markey, D-Mass., an original sponsor of the Green New Deal.....

Markey is normally a do-nothing Senator.

And the “Green New Deal” is poison!!

Not only that, it was Global Warming that caused HECO to spend only 1% of what they requested for power line right-of-way maintenance and fire abatement projects. The Global Warming kooks made HECO spend money on Global Warming crapola and ignore the real, live threat of power line caused fired.

“Hey, Lama, hey, how about a little something, you know, for the effort, you know.” And he says, “Oh, uh, there won’t be any money, but when you die, on your deathbed, you will receive total consciousness.” So I got that goin’ for me, which is nice.

Well, they are quickly BURYING the possibilities of ARSON and neglect shown by the fire department by leaving before INSURING that the initial fire was totally put out.

From the web:

In 2015, lawmakers passed legislation mandating that the state derive 100 percent of its electricity from renewable sources by 2045, the first such requirement in the U.S.

Hawaiian Electric revealed in 2017 that it would reach the goal five years ahead of schedule but that focus may have come at the cost of fire mitigation according to some experts.

**************

An article from July this year said that Hawaii had built a battery station for some solar panels or windfarm that cost $500 million. It would store enough electricity to power it’s customers for .....one hour! [Not sure if that one hour is accurate]

Elsewhere on the net:

Kapolei Energy Storage (KES) is ideally located on roughly eight acres of land in Kapolei on the island of Oahu, where it will interconnect at a critical Hawaiian Electric substation. The 185 MW / 565 MWh battery storage project will provide load shifting and fast-frequency response services to Hawaiian Electric, enhancing grid reliability and accelerating the integration of readily available renewable energy.

******************

It sounds like this battery project is not so much to supply power for long periods, but may just be a buffer as different energy sources are switched???

which has claimed the lives of at least 115 people,

They are dragging this out until we are distracted by something else, the one a Friday evening Hawaii time they will drop the final number.

I think if you examine the reasons why the electric company was negligent in clearing under brush you’ll find that they have been dumping all their time and money into green energy. That of course will increase electric costs and reduce reliability. These leftists eff up everything they touch.
