Hey, Zahra Hirji, take it up with China... who is not, and will not, cooperate with any international agreements, and who is the global leader in pollution.

Well, down here in Houston our temperature will be in the 80’s Saturday, and in the 30’s on Sunday...
That’s “climate change”.

I had an old wool Army blanket and a drop light with a 100W bulb that Winter. Car not garaged. Drop light went between the block and the radiator and the blanket over top of the engine compartment to hold in a little heat. Made a BIG difference on the car starting in the AM.

First, they warned against a coming ice age. Then, they warned us about global warming. Now, it's just "climate change," a banal truism with no real predictive value. So, heavy rains and flooding, drought, extreme heat, extreme cold, strong hurricanes or their absence, are all explained by "climate change."
This has the predictive value of a Tarot card reading: "The Hermit card says that there will be times when you seek peace and quiet, and the High Priestess card reveals your feminine approach to leadership, but the Ten of Swords card shows you are ready to fight for what you believe in." Those banalities could be tweaked for just about anyone.

IIRC, the Mistake by the Lake was under that same mile of ice with Chiraq.

Funny how people cling to things like labels. Cleveland is a small “big city”, and as such, I don’t like it. Most cities that are over 200k people are run by Dems, not all, but most. But to your odd point, yes, the great lakes were made by glaciers, which stretched down to the middle of the US. My observation was Chicago belonged there, not most of the country.
By the way, Cleveland is a garden spot, a welcoming little town compared to the combat zone that is Chicago.

So riddle me this. If it’s a fact that as the sun declines/ages it gets hotter and hotter, bigger and bigger, do we even have any control whatsoever in the temperature of the earth? I say it doesn’t matter at all the amount of so called climate change regulations enacted. The earth will continue to warm. In a billion years or so the planet will be baked anyhow. According to scientists.
I suspect we will exterminate ourselves long before we’re technologically able to leave this planet for another life sustaining one, should there be one at all.

Yep. Back in my working days I did the same. Kept the battery from freezing and it kept the oil warm enough to turn the engine. Also kept ice from forming in the carburator.

If I remember my geography, the Sahara was once at the South Pole, and later became a grain producing area for Africa, before it became a desert.

I’m guessing that there are no years in recorded history that do not have weather anomalies some place around the world.
