Explosive allegations by Meghan, Duchess of Sussex that she faced racist attitudes from both the palace and the U.K. press have sent ripples of shock around the world. But they came as no surprise to many Black Britons.
Whether it’s the disproportionate impact of COVID-19 on people of color or the lack of non-white faces at the top of British media and politics, ethnic minorities in the U.K. say racist attitudes and structures of discrimination are pervasive — and all too often denied by society at large.
“This is a country that doesn’t want to have an honest conversation about race,” historian David Olusoga, who presented the TV series “Black and British: A Forgotten History,” said Tuesday.

I would imagine Enoch Powell who warned the country what was going to happen is saying “I told you so”.
Meghan’s racism comes as no surprise to Britons.
fixed
Yeah, because when only one side gets to speak, by definition, that is not a conversation.
What Megahnoid forgets is she is helping to build a future for her kids and grandkids by claiming to only have good intentions.
Maybe that will sell in a book or on NutFluX but reverse prejudice and ingratitude have never been big draws for most who have a clue.
The most effective way to abolish or prevent racism is segregation. That is original design of human society. God already arranged. But human believes they are smarter and mix different racial groups for some economic benefits for themselves. Racism is genetic expression of a reaction between two different races when mixed
France is Brittain’s near future
She’s awful. The Queen should quit playing softball and excommunicate them both from the Royal family in the harshest terms.
An "honest" conversation about race? The lefties don't want to have that.
Interesting. My uncle who arrived in UK in 42 and was there till his unit left for France in July 44 always remarked how the Brits were very hospitable to black GIs. It affected him in that he was always more considerate to blacks than most of his friends and family who had remained stateside.
“This is a country that doesn’t want to have an honest conversation about racism,”
Britons, like many in the US, are all too keen to lecture on their views of racism but to have an “honest conversation”?
Not likely.
The media and the left are expanding this. They are blowing it up all out of proportion to what the woman said. Naturally, the media and the left are happy to hear and inflate any and all accusations of racism and to go 24/7 with them and never let go.
The media and the left in the USA don’t give two flyspecks about the UK. This is meant to apply to the USA and to make us all hang our heads in shame and approve of reparations because some inbred asked about the color of the baby’s skin.
Anyone who doesn’t like the country they live in can move. Heck, Meg-whiner and whipped-Prince Harry already have. My wife and I just may leave if the Democrats succeed in the socialistic change to America. Costa Rica or Panama sound good and have low costs of living.
Just for fun, we should change the name of our cooperative spying to “White Eyes”.
It must be the legacy of slavery and Jim Crow that make those black Britons so unhappy. Oh, wait...
She’s lucky she’s not working at McDonald’s, and she’d probably get fired from that job. This not-all-that-good-looking, worthless, and unemployable bitch is another one of a dozen people I’d rather not hear from again.
Interesting post, and makes sense.
Dont care too much for the royal family since there are fewer branches on their family tree than a spartree in a clearcut.
“History began in 1776, everything before that was just a mistake”-Ron Swanson.
They need a t-shirt with that one. An image of Enoch Powell and the legend “I told you so!”
