WESLEY CHAPEL Two armed intruders were shot dead and a third was wounded when a homeowner fired on them early Friday, according to the Pasco County Sheriffs Office.
The homeowner said he was inside his home playing video games when at about 12:43 a.m. he heard the glass of his laundry room door shatter, according to a sheriffs report. He saw an arm reach inside to unlock the door. Then the homeowner said he saw a masked man walk in and aim a gun at him.
The homeowner said he grabbed his Glock 9mm pistol, which was just a few feet away, and fired several times at the intruder. He saw the intruder fall down, the report said. Then a second masked intruder entered the house, and the homeowner said he fired at him, too. That intruder also collapsed.
The masked men were aiming their weapons at the homeowner when they were shot, said Pasco Sheriff Chris Nocco.

Does Florida have a disproportionately large number of home invasions? It sure seems that way.
Theres an old west tradition of shooting the 3rd guy through the door, so that the other two dont realize the party is on until its too late.
Of course, this only applies in fanciful stories around the camp fire, not real life duress.
Kudos for self defense. I expect to see more of this with the deluge of ammo and gun purchases.
Two more Covid deaths.
A story with a 2/3 happy ending. Not bad.
Florida has a high crime rate. People should consider that before moving there because of no income tax.
“The homeowner started firing again, but said his Glock jammed. Then he said he grabbed a Kriss Vector 10mm semi-automatic rifle, but didnt fire it. The third intruder had run away.”
“The neighbor had detained the third intruder, who was wounded, at gunpoint in the front yard.”
Sounds like a great neighborhood.
Cops say the homeowner knew the perps. Looks like the perps didnt know the homeowner (well enough). Seems like a rule to live by if youre a thug is know your victim.
2 out of 3 ain’t bad.
To paraphrase Jack Nicholson, “You effed with the wrong homeowner”!
In reality, you shoot the highest threat target first. Failing that, closest target first. Shoot to stop, shift targets, repeat.
At least they were being socially responsible.
It’s a good thing he doesn’t live in St. Louis. If he did, the police would show up and confiscate his gun so he won’t be able to defend himself in the future.
Pasco county is a tough place.
A mother shouldn’t have to fear for her son’s life every time he tries to violently invade a house. I’m sure these fine young men were just turning their lives around.
Same here in LA the media here they only cover the virus and a cat up a tree, they hide any news that’s hard news the snow flakes can’t take reality.
Feel good story of the day. The only fly in the ointment is the third perp survived.
Still enters the house despite hearing gunshots after the first intruder broke in.
