Lori Rodriguez, a 27-year-old communications professional in New York City, is not saving for retirement, and it isn’t necessarily because she can’t afford to — it’s because she doesn’t expect it to matter.
Like many people her age, Rodriguez believes climate change will have catastrophic effects on our planet. Some 88% of millennials — a higher percentage than any other age group — accept that climate change is happening, and 69% say it will impact them in their lifetimes. Engulfed in a constant barrage of depressing news stories, many young people are skeptical about saving for an uncertain future.
“I want to hope for the best and plan for a future that is stable and secure, but, when I look at current events and at the world we are predicting, I do not see how things could not be chaotic in 50 years,” Rodriguez says. “The weather systems are already off, and I don’t think it’s hyperbolic to be a little apocalyptic.”

They are ironically correct. The trillions siphoned from their futures going to the climate change scam do ultimately come out of those 401(k)s.
They won’t put money in a 401(K) for their own retirement, but will buy a $1000 cell phone that will be obsolete in 2 years.................

They should look at immigration, multi-culturalism, graft and corruption at local, state and federal levels before worrying about the world coming to an end. More like the USA coming to an end.
Big Media is off their game, must be distracted and worried.
The kids didn’t allegedly blame Trump.
The undisciplined, immediate gratification crowd will always find an excuse for their bad decisions.
Instead of looking at those points and being conserned, the young people are pushing those points along...

I just ask them if we can ALL AGREE that pollution is bad and should be stopped.
Then I ask them how transferring huge amounts of money to other countries that are allowed to pollute more via “climate change” agreements does that?
They are not saving and there will likely be no Social Security for them when they reach retirement age. Families will not exist by then so there will be no younger generations supporting their elders.Perhaps the future will have of millions of old folks panhandling on the street.
Someone could make a killing with an AOC 12-year countdown clock app.
Her constituents would eat it up too!
People who rely on the government to give them phones aren’t going to have a 401(K)...................
I blame the snowflakes, but only to an extent. If literally everyone is telling you that climate change is going to kill you, and soon...you’re going to believe it, and act accordingly.
The real villains here are the fascists in the media and on college campuses. They have shut off all debate, and censored all opposing views.
Yup and a $200 a month cell plan that spys on them.
The whining never ends with these people.
We are becoming a nation of neurotics.
It’s the end of the world as we know it, and I feel fine.
And wear $200 sneakers that will wear out in less than a year.................
