As McDonald's seeks to modernize its business, the company is placing a big bet on mobile and other tech platforms.
McDonald's has been systematically adding self-service ordering kiosks and table service to stores as it works to "build a better McDonald's."
"What we're finding is when people dwell more, they select more," CEO Steve Easterbrook told CNBC on "Squawk on the Street" on Monday. "There's a little bit of an average check boost."

Liberals. Always hoisted on their own petard and never learning. Always shooting themselves in the foot and then trying to walk on their hands.
And cashiers won’t screw up your order. You can do it yourself.
Kiosks will replace the cashiers just like ATM machines are replacing bank tellers.
Yep! Anything to keep increasing my MCD Stock !!!
Kiosks don’t roll their eyes at me or treat me differently than other customers.
Ghetto patrons slated to punch and throw milkshakes on THEMSELVES..?
Provide the clients are capable of using them! :-)
Exactly. Orders are much more likely to be accurate.
And kiosks speak English.
Kiosks don’t buy stuff either.
All I use anymore are self-serve kiosks and Apple Pay when available.
Not that I would eat in that place, but I’d rather the kiosks have voice recognition rather than germ infested touchscreens.
It’s like touching a toilet seat.
Kiosks dont roll their eyes at me or treat me differently than other customers.
...
Is that what they mean by white privilege?
If they ever make burgers that look like the picture in the article I’d consider trying them again.
Otherwise, they should be sued for false advertising.
Don’t use your fingertip, use your knuckle! ;-)
No, but the kiosks need to be designed, built, sold, marketed, installed, maintained, repaired. All good jobs, which will likely not be filled by the untrained, unemployed people the kiosks are replacing. This would have happened anyway, but the minimum wage hikes are speeding it up in a way that makes the transition far more painful.
I always use a knuckle rather than a fingertip when ordering via kiosk. Don’t know where the other guy’s hands have been.
