It’s not pie-in-the-sky. Just a matter of expense.

Too good to have not been tested. A Tianjin, China explosion in 2015 is rumored to have been a Rods of the Gods strike.

It is in the realm of actual secrets and speculation without the evidence of something like Israeli nukes.

Your post reminds me of something...cue dream sequence...
“It’s a small thermal exhaust port, right below the main port. The shaft leads directly to the reactor system. A precise hit will start a chain reaction which should destroy the station. Only a precise hit will set off a chain reaction.”

He’d sing a different tune if Trump had the full support of the government but he doesn’t and everyone knows it

True. Trump is completely isolated with almost no support within the government. This is at odds with the support he has from voters.

Nevertheless Trump could launch a war against NK as he does have power over the nukes. However if he launched a preemptive strike on NK he would be summarily thrown out of office. So Trump has to get fat boy to make a fatal mistake. Until that happens the US will do little.

Not many Presidents had the guts Truman did. He served his 4 years and went back home.

He said “the buck stops here” and it did. He took the unprecedented action of dropping the bomb/bombs to stop a war from being carried out by our military on two fronts.. he said we were war weary and had lost too many men and did not want to fight another one in the pacific. It was a hard thing to do, and today the liberal media/left would have a fit . they are too used to having it all and no sacrifice.

Check your math. He finished FDR's 4 years (minus a month or so), then did 4 more years after Dewey defeated him in 1948.

Looks like 8 years before he went back to the haberdashery.

A preemptive strike, as radical and provocative as it would be, by its nature, would by no means have to be nuclear.

You are correct. I was counting the 4 years he was elected as President. The first almost 4 were “inherited”. I do remember.. I voted for the first time after Truman went back home.

I also remember when the war in Europe was over.. the celebrations.. the ones who paid the ultimate price.. the landing on Normandy with the Germans on the hill shooting our men as they tried to get enough ashore .. my father said they were to take the weapons and supplies of the dead as they ran past them.. if they could .. and to keep running to get ashore. It was a horrible war. It lasted too long. And Truman did what he thought was right. Not sure Roosevelt would have.

“Does anyone know if Rods From God actually exist, or is it just a mental exercise on paper by the Airforce?”

Officially there are no space weapons due to treaty.

However I highly doubt that is reality.

wikipedia is way off their number.. many more died in months after and years. from the effects of the bombs. After that war they were called “Japs” and hated. It took a long time to get that name off the lips of most.

Thank you Clintons for giving them Nukes.
Thank you Obama for giving them funds (via Iran) to deliver them.

We could shoot those emp cruise missiles across North Korea shutting down their communications and maybe the missile sites . The. We could go in a bomb all the sites we know of and also bomb all their heavy duty stuff like tanks Anne submarines and ships. I think we have the tech to do this, and all without nukes . The military would surrender like the Iraqis. These poor people are all starving and don’t want to fight .

Sadly, the next move is the obvious one. We preempt strike them. Hope for minimal civilian losses.

We did something like this when we sold dummy missiles to Iran and Iraq during the Iran/Iraq War.

This was done because Democrats, led by House Speaker O Neal, threatened President Reagan with impeachment, if Reagan were to spend “one American dime”, or put a single soldier on the ground in Nicaragua, to halt Moscow’s attempts to turn Nicaragua into an important naval and signals intelligence hub (against the US), which was to be facilitated by Daniel Ortega taking power away from any democratic government or process.

Of course, the Nicaraguan freedom fighters were not willing to just let the local communist led by Ortega, and supported in every way by Moscow (including heavy weapons to defeat the “freedom fighters”), simply take over, so Ortega actually did kill many unwilling civilians in the process.

While Reagan intentionally did not know the details of this crazy awesome scheme, we were able to sell the dummy missiles, and purchase medical, humanitarian aid, and the weaponry necessary for the anti-communists freedom fighters to keep Nicaragua from falling to the newly minted KGB superstar Daniel Ortega.

- In a nutshell

* We sold dummy missiles to two separate enemy nations fighting each other

*Took proceeds from our enemy’s to purchase humanitarian aid and weapons, for the freedom fighters in Nicaragua, to halt the efforts of a greater enemy, Moscow, to turn Nicaragua into a Russian naval and spy hub.

It temporarily worked!

Until Bill Clinton’s presidency...

However, from the late 1990’s-2000’s Moscow (*Putin*) was finally able, with the help of Daniel Ortega (again) to turn Nicaragua into quasi-communist dictatorship, and into a vastly more dangerous and capable base for Russian Intelligence, Russian Navy, and even Russian strategic assets, now aimed at the United States.

Not all of this, but some of this can be found here - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nicaragua%E2%80%93Russia_relations

*Unfortunately, Venezuela has very much experienced the same. Russian has for at least 3 decades sought to interrupt any parliamentary government in Venezuela. Russia has had significant success in the last 9 years, and Russia (*Putin*) now has a permanent Russian fleet based on the coast of Venezuela. This fleet is built around the large Russian destroyer, Peter The Great, and includes nuclear missiles, and includes nuclear subs. As well, Russia has a Russian Air Force Base in Venezuela, which has included up to 24 TU-160 jet bombers carrying nuclear bombs.

TU-160 specs here - http://www.military-today.com/aircraft/tupolev_tu160_blackjack.htm

Under Clinton and Obama, Russia parked far more nuclear weapons and intel assets in the Caribbean than they need to destroy the US.

Most Americans are completely oblivious!

Today, Russia has vastly more nuclear weapons and intel assets in the Caribbean than they every did during the Cuban Missile Crises.

Trump now knows these things, and knows he has been dealt a horrific hand, in trying to navigate protecting the USA!

Think about how complicated this becomes while Trump try’s to deal with North Korea, Eastern Europe, or the Middle East!

It's not the engines, it's the ballistics. Only a few countries have ICBMs like the one they tested today. China is one.

NK is not creating the technical systems to achieve that. They are highly guarded secrets of the countries that have them. Someone is giving it to them.
