We were warned many years ago, of the risks of FB, as it’s a tool for infiltrating your Hard Drive.

Foreign agents simply takeover in the background for whatever purposes they want.
It's never really truly deleted. If you ever set up another FB account in the future, you'll notice FB will suggest "people you may know" from your previous account.
I've "permanently" deleted a few of them.
The easiest way to not has a social media account is not to get one in the first place.
A Facebook account is kinda like credit these days. You want to have one, maintain it and use very little of it.
Sure, the old men yelling at clouds here on Free Republic may admonish people who use FB with their, "I've never had a Facetweeet account! Don't need one! Gonna go yell at clouds now!" sentiments but in real life, one should not have a completely vacant social media footprint.
Why? Employers will think you are hiding something. It's best to have a FB account with a few pictures of things that make you laugh, maybe a family vacation or two, and sporadic comments about your favorite sports team or that movie that you didn't like.
If you don't have any social media presence, be prepared to explain to any future employer why and be judged accordingly. It's like saying you don't have a cell phone. It makes you look peculiar.

I deleted my FakeBook account years ago.
FB was very helpful in electing 2 conservatives to our large School district School Board this past spring. One was a 21 year old fellow. It has its uses.

It would also be cool to have a program that would replace everything in a FB account with random fake information. Their business model falls apart if enough people did that.
I’ve had a few FB accounts. My current (and all past accounts) have never used my real name, my birthday lists me as 30 years younger and I don’t list anybody as family. I’ll delete my current account one of these days.
