After 4 Special Election Losses, Panic Is Setting In On The Left
vox.com ^ | Jun 22, 2017

Jon Ossoff’s loss in Georgia’s Sixth Congressional election on Tuesday isn’t just a disappointment for liberals. It’s a bright red warning sign, a blaring siren that should alert Democrats everywhere that they will not take back Congress without a radical change in direction.

It looked to some like the party could retake at least one branch in Congress in 2018 just by staying the course. “I don’t think Democrats want a new direction,” House Minority Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) said on CBS Face the Nation the week after the election.

But since then, Democrats have lost four straight special elections in races for Congress. Top party leaders are defending those losses as representing improvements on the party's baseline. But they at least to appear to suggest that winning the House will be harder than it first seemed. And panic is beginning to seep in.

Pelosi is too toxic, Rep. Filemon Vela of Texas, first elected to Congress in 2012, told Vox on Wednesday.

“To me it’s real simple: The perception of leader Pelosi is so negative that we are not going to be able to walk away from that,” Vela said. “In order to take the House majority back you have to be able to win swing districts ... the perceptions of the leader are so entrenched, they’re not going to change, and the Republican Party is going to continue to spend millions and millions of dollars to tie the leader, who is very unpopular, to those areas.”

I know how to get rid of Pelosi. Democrats should jump on board the Republican repeal and replace plan and blame Pelosi for it. (You have to vote for it to see what’s in it.)

Now they can start fresh, with younger candidates who actually have ideas instead of rhetoric. Even though it will go against some of Conservative ideas at least they will have something that they can run on. The “Bush’s fault” strategy is over and done with. They blamed Trump and lost 5 straight races.

The only way the Democrats can win is if Nancy P runs for president and picks Cryin Chuck as her VP!!!....

NOW THERE’S A TICKET!!

Ya, I thought these liberals were all about getting women into power and all that.

Nancy P. is an historic figure, in being the first woman speaker of the house in history.

By the liberals own criteria, it would be sexist and bigoted to force her out.

Someone correct me, but wasn’t there one election recently (NY, I think) where the left turned a red seat blue? Perhaps it was a state legislative seat? Anyway, the left was crowing about that to no end several months ago.

The democrats MUST abandon Clinton and Clintonism (socialism) and come back to America and Americans. Democrats did not lose the elction because of anything the republicans or the Russians did. They lost because their candidate Clinton had/has no message to motivate middle America.

The American voters saw and still see Clinton as a criminal or at least a self-serving lawyer of sorts doing exactly as she pleases no matter who is wronged or ruined.

Her shady deals go all the way back to Rose Law firm, James Mcdougal, White House Travel office firings, disrespect for Secret Service protection, spousal abuse, communists and socialists in the White House under Bill, no clear purpose to run for President, pay-to-play among US Ambassadors and corporations, cronyism, Craig Livingston list of possible targets by FBI, abandonment of US soldiers in Benghazi, lies to cover up everything....and this is not a complete list.

The American voters have a perception of Hillary Clinton. She created her reputation; no one else. As a candidate she could not be elected. Unless the democrats abandon her their party will die.

I don’t know why they would panic. They lost elections in four safe Republican seats. Panic would be in order if they had lost elections in four safe Democrat seats.

It would appear that the Democrats are now paying for their sin of underestimating the intelligence of the American people . . . and they aren’t buying their fake bill of goods any longer.

“...and the Republican Party is going to continue to spend millions and millions of dollars to tie the leader, who is very unpopular, to those areas.”

Vela’s right...but he is missing something here. It isn’t just Pelosi. The Democratic Party is so full of nuts, outright psychos, that the Republicans will happily spend millions showing that in commercials even if Pelosi leaves.

Sadly, the single best asset the R’s have right now is the complete incompetence & arrogance of the D/lib leadership. Once they correct their ship (and they will!) the gross ineptitude of the leadership on the R/Con side will be re-exposed. Paul Ryan, Mitch McConnell, etc? Seriously? If we want long term victory, we conservatives need to get our collective $hit together and not pretend it’s us that are beating the Liberals. Trump has provided a YUGE opportunity. The mid-terms need to be an epic, bone crushing victory.

The democrats have a serious national leadership problem. The current crop is old, washed up, and way out on the fringe. In national elections, unelectable. Warren, Schumer, Pelosi, Clinton, Sanders all fit that bill.

Ellison is a fringe candidate; he would be crushed in a national election.

They may try a young face like Kamala Harris from California; the “second coming” of Barky. It’s probably their best bet to turn the party over to her. But the old guard will not give up power easily; they will die before they turn the party over to a Harris.

The democrats are the “Party of Lenin” and they have gone the way his party did in the Brezhnev Era; just a bunch of old apparatchiks holding power while their edifice crumbles.

If the D’s would provide a true social conservative, Pro-America, free market, pro-gun alternative to some RINO’s, they might actually win. Instead, they seem to be doubling down on the hard-left regressive agenda. But not to worry, the socialist government schools will soon generate a sufficient voter base to put the Bernie Sanders wing in power. Then self-styled conservatives and Christians who have sentenced their children to the pagan academies can wring their hands about it while doing nothing.

The very fact EVERY Establishment Media outlet is strongly criticizing the Democratic Party tells me only one thing: the ossified leadership of the Democrats in Congress needs to go. It's time for Nancy Pelosi and Charles "Chuck" Schumer to retire.

Wow... profound statement. Next the Democrat suicide rate will skyrocket and it will be Trump’s fault!!!
