(full article title: Are these the biggest food lies ever? Hilarious photos reveal the misleading packaging that's led to some VERY disappointed (and hungry) customers)
We're all aware that fast food doesn't always live up to the glossy photos that advertise them - however, these shop-bought snacks make a sad hamburger look like haute cuisine.
Imgur user SpicyFlamingCinnamonRollTigerBearOfRage shared hilarious snaps of food packaging that totally fails to reflect the snack inside.
In what the user referred to as food 'lies', the photos showcase the utterly disappointing - and downright contradictory - packaging that doesn't quite tell you what's really going on.
But luckily some eagle-eyed foodies have shared their finds - to hopefully prevent other hungry customers from suffering the same fate...

Jumbo shrimp anyone?
LOL. I love this country!
I don’t have a picture of it, but I was recently reading the nutrition information on a Coors Light 16-ounce can (yeah, I know). The serving size says 12 ounces, then the servings per container said 1-1/4. Someone needs remedial math.
And the courts will not allow people to sue obviously misleading photographs with obvious mistakes. The courts call these kinds of lies, “good marketing/good advertising/good salesmanship”.
The one which bothers me the most is the toothpaste commercials which show a full stroke of toothpaste on the entire brush. If you read the fine print it says, “Put a small bead of paste on the brush,” or words to that effect. The hope is that people will not bother to read the instructions. They sell more toothpaste with their deceptive photographs.
Yeah, but ask them how much bigger it is, in percent, and they’d either get the right answer, or say 50% ;-)
Same idea with shaving cream. It helps NONE to have it lay on thick.
Ah.... George Carlin...
Hey, guy, Don't you know you are supposed to drink only 12 ounces of the 16 ounces in the can and sacrifice 4 ounces to the gods of dietary correctness by pouring those four ounces on the floor? After all, they need beer too, you know! THAT'S how you get one 12 ounce serving in a 16 ounce can. . .
The other way is that five beer buddies go out drinking. . . four of them drink their serving's worth from their cans and give the balance to the fifth buddy. . . unsanitary but it works and satisfies the beer busybodies!

Caveat emptor.
yes, but that 27% portion of the juice is 100% authentic juice
By ‘bigger size’ they of course meant that the letters for ‘bigger size’ were written in a bigger size
the 30% bigger to 40% bigger was of course talking about bigger price- not contents
The arizona drink is an american company importing canadian stuff to sell here-
Raisin maggots obviously must have eaten the other scoop and a half of raisins,
The berry loaf’s berries are simply hiding, or invisible,
The panda pop- ok that’s clearly false advertising
3 dudes out drinkin and drivign around- they see cops lights in the back- the driver says “
“Quick, take the labels off the bottles”
The others do so- the driver says
“Now put hte labels on your foreheads” - they do
Officer pulls up, and says “You boys been drinkin?”
Driver says “No sir officer, honest,- look (points to beer label) and says “See? We’re on the patch”
lol
Sounds like we need Michael Douglas from “Falling Down” to check your math.
Really?
4x0.00136= 0.00544
what scene was that?
Somebody sued them for misleading advertising, but the courts found otherwise.
I came across this a couple of months ago:
Behind the scenes at a McDonald's photo shoot
It's McD's Canada, but it gives an idea of food styling.
I'd bet a dollar they'd get the percent wrong too, since they can't figure out that 4 ounces is 1/3 of 12, not 1/4.
